Late up and back to the audiologist

Today is an unusual day for me. I didn’t get up until 10 am which is unheard of. My eye is rapidly improving with some drops the doctor prescribed but I’ve had a very sore throat. Usually if I get or am getting a cold my nose starts to run (although my feet don’t smell -that’s a joke) but I just have a really sore throat. We were late to bed then I didn’t sleep well so this morning I just stayed in bed for a while well past my usual time for getting up.
This afternoon we are going back to the audiologist to talk about getting hearing aids. Vince qualifies for two free aids but I only qualify for one. If I had known that I wouldn’t have tried so hard to do well in the test.
I am thinking I might wait a year for mine and then get two. I don’t want to be unbalanced by having only one. What do you think?
The photo is of some fungi which look a bit like ears.

Next time you see that you fail in the test. (lol)
And that fungi I had to use all my imagination to think they look like ears

@JudyEv Not a nice thing there Judy. Is there no natural away to improve your hearing?

@allknowing The girl didn't say so. It's just an age thing. Of course, if Vince stopped mumbling that would help! That's a joke too.

@JudyEv That's one reason I hate getting a sore throat, because there isn't a whole lot you can do to make them feel better.

@moffittjc When I was a teenager I had an ulcerated throat. I was staying with my grandmother for a few days at the time and she didn't believe in doctors. In the end anything I drank was coming out my nose. Pretty gross!

Sore throats are the pits..Maybe it is your bodies way of telling you to slow down a little. I think you should get two hearing aids only if you need them both. I like the fungi.

I don't seem to have any other cold symptoms which seems a bit strange. Anna thought it might be an allergy.

Good that you are taking proactive action to neutralize the effects of age-related health issues.
I should also check my hearing asap.
Ear cleaning also helps, did you give it a try?
Yeah, the fungi even should feel like ears by the look of it - siva

Sore throat is really bad. Try some hot water with salt gargles

Hubby bought two, years ago. One quit working. He has not worn them for several years, but I would like him to at least wear the one that works. Fresh pineapple works well for sore throats.

Thanks for the pineapple tip. We know lots of people who don't wear their hearing aids which is why we're reluctant to spend a lot of money on them.

I am not sure that having only one will make you feel unbalanced, I would take the one free one now.

Since our second visit I've decided to trial one. It can't do any harm and I won't lose any benefits by doing so.

I'm going to trial one for a month as there is no loss of benefits to do this.

Until just now, it never even occurred to me that someone might have a need for a hearing aid for each ear. Yeah, I'm kind of weird like that.

Joke is funny....
The fungi looks exotic..Is it edible?
Will they give an aid for only one ear?
