Strip padiddle

Yesterday at the family Christmas party I went to a relative remarked on how long my hair was getting. At the dentist a week ago or so the dentist said the same thing.
I was in the shower last night and got to thinking about a weird game my friends, sister and I played with my ex and his friends when we were teenagers.
It was called Strip Padiddle. When driving if you saw another car and it has one headlight out you have to yell padiddle and hit the ceiling with your fist. The person in last place saying it has to remove an article of clothing.
The guys always started with their hats first. I believe the driver was exempt from having to play.
If you have ever seen the video by Alanis Morissette called "Thank You India" you remember how she walked around all over naked just covered by her hair. My hair was very long and thick and curly like hers when I was a teen. (Still is long but it's wavy and much thinner now)
So when we had to play strip padiddle I didn't really care because while other girls with short hair had to sit there naked my hair completely covered me so I wasn't so nervous.
What a weird game! Anyone else ever play padiddle or strip padiddle?

Never heard of that one and I imagine it could get a lot of kids in trouble. Strip poker is bad enough, but hopefully teens don't play that as much as maybe young adults. I wondered how you got from growing out your hair to playing weird car games. Good thing you were never stopped by any police. Now, that would be embarrassing whether or not you had long enough hair to cover body parts.

@MarshaMusselman I sure didn't make it up but the guy I was dating might have. I did look it up online to see if I spelled it correctly and saw on urban dictionary a very similar definition to the game I played. The regular game of padiddle seems to be more well known. After reading what you said about an accident I am even more glad we never got caught

@shaggin Think if you'd gotten in wreck and was thrown from the car, that would be embarrassing for those playing the game and possibly for anyone coming to the scene before the authorities. Course, when we're kids and even younger than fifty we think we're invincible and nothing will hurt us, so most wouldn't consider the what if's.
Do you think you and your friends made that version up, since Deb has played the regular one before.

@DaddyEvil I was pretty useless at poker so mostly lost. I only ever played with my husband - so to speak.

I was a wild teen I always admit that even if I don't want to admit most the things I did. This is one story that I could tell without it embarrassing me to awful much. Other stories will go with me to my grave

I have never heard of that game that you did in a car. Thankfully the driver of the car was exempt. My hair is below my shoulders long and I wish it would grow even longer. My daughter has got very long hair. Our hair is straight with no curl. My mum has straight hair and when she was younger she curled it up. The funny thing she told me was her brother had curly hair and he tried to get his hair straight. My mum's sister also hated having straight hair.

@maximax8 isn't it funny how we always want something other then what we have. My sister hated her curly hair as a teen! She used to brush it so hard and with anger because it was curly that she ripped so much out she was nearly bald in the back. Mine has always been long. Right now it is below the top of my pants. I think the longest mine ever was was down to my butt and I had it cut on my honeymoon. I donated it to locks of love and it was so long the hair stylist said they would likely be able to make two wigs out of it. They only needed 10 inches for a donation and mine was something like over 22.

@snowy22315 I looked it up to make sure I had the spelling right and the urban dictionary describes it similar to how we played it.

@Tina30219 was kinda fun as a teen but I don’t think I’d ever give in and play in now lol if you and our friends decide to do it be sure to come back here and tell us about it to share some giggles.

@Daddyevil you not getting to see anyone like this also means they didn't get to see you like that either which may make you feel better. I'm sure I lost most my clothes many times. People drove around with a surprising large amount of headlights out.
