In this holiday rush to buy the perfect gift, the decorate, and trim the tree, we must never forget "the reason for the season". It is all too easy to forget what the true, original reason for Christmas day. We need to take a moment during all of this rushing about to send a little prayer up to heaven. So, I am taking this time to reflect on all involved with this oh so special day and thank God for all of his love and sacrifices that he has made for us. I made have been clumsy in the way I worded this but it is straight from the heart.

@HazySue Thank you. With Christmas as hectic as it is and so commercialized, we need that check to keep us on the right path.

I wonder how many still take a moment to think what Christmas really means. I fear not.

I believe you are right. If they did remember the reason for the season they sure don't show it by the rude attitudes.

Neither will I. I once make a cross stitch with Santa kneeling by the cradle of baby Jesus in a manger. The name of it was 'The reason for the season". It turned out to be beautiful.

Christmas has become too commercial and we adore and worship Santa more than Jesus, we care more about the things than about what he has done for us and continues to do.. we have forgotten that HE is the season.

When my girls were growing up they would hear as much, if not more, of Jesus as they did of Christmas.

The reason for the season is to give thanks, the love and of course, thank God for the gift of life.
