Yes, you read that right!
The forecast said that from four in the afternoon today until tomorrow morning we would have snow here - and sure enough just before four the first flakes started to fall and it is already white everywhere.
That means that tomorrow I can't go out as I don't walk in the snow - I slip and fall over 
So, as today I cooked for tomorrow (minetrone and meatballs in tomato sauce) and changed the sheets and ironed and have nothing else to do indoors.... I will be here all day! 
I will make myself a challenge (as this will be the first time since I returned that I can have a long time here) and will try to respond to every new discussion that is posted tomorrow. That way I hope to meet all of the Lotters that have joined (and are active) during my absence,
Be good because I still have an eye for anything that is not original

Yes I am in the north midway between utin and Milan.
I have the the climate change so much in the forty years since I came here. We used to get heavy snowfalls here throughout the winter and there was none in the south. Now that has changed and they get more, and it lasts on the ground longer, than we do up here.
The forecast for the weekend is warm again so it will probably disappear quite quickly once the sun shines again.

When the weather is really bad I don't go out and spend my time here or watching videos. I rather not take a chance on breaking something. Have fun!

Same here. I am a danger to myself and others when there is snow or ice on the paths. It is all white everywhere outside and it's only 9 p.m. so they will be a lot if it carries on all night. It's warmer here too

I can guess that you are indeed! Here it stopped during the night but everywhere was white when I got up. Then the sun came out and most of it has disappeared. Soon it eill be cark again and I hope it will not freeze. Ice is even more dangerous.

@mysdianait The roads were covered with ice in Milan, I walked very carefully going out the stairs of the subway. We had a meeting not far from Piazza Duomo, we parked the car far from the center and got the Metropolitana, faster and safer.

It is indeed difficult because so many Lotters are commenting. I was not expecting that but it is fun. I will catch up tomorrow morning when many will be asleep. That way I will get to almost all of them I hope

@just4him Thank you and I hope so too but I also know that we need the snow. It provides water for the next warm season. Two years ago we hardly had any snow during winter and then there was a huge problem in the following summer with no water for the fields. The farmers suffered big losses.

My challenge is proving difficult as I did not expect so many people would be commenting back... and back again and it is difficult to keep up with the nitifications. I didn't go out but I have to have a potty break once in a while

Luckily there was not a lot of snow and the sun is shining now so hopefully it will soon disappear here in town. Yes I have food in the freezer which I prepared in the last weeks so no problem. Snow is unusual there for you?

@Marilynda1225 It did not bother me to go out in it when I was younger too. After my first fall and then a car accident due to snow (nthing serious) I started to hate it. Now that I am retired I am lusky that I don't have to go out in it. I get prepared for it before it arrives and get stocks of food and stuff indoors so that I don0t have to bother anyone. Luckily here we don't get too much. The worst falls are usualli in mid-January.

@mysdianait that's exactly how I feel so I'm not fond of snow anymore. Back in the good old days I would go out and never think twice about falling and breaking something. By the time spring comes I'm usually so tired of being stuck in the house.

The snow has almost all disappeared as the sun was shining today but now it is dark and will probably freeze. That spells danger on the roads

Ah! If you have never seen it or had the chance to play in it then I can totally understand that you might think it to be wonderful. However it is dangerous when it melts and then freezes again, making everywhere slippery. Older peole have problems walking on it but of course the children and youngsters love it. I am happy if it stays up in the mountains where those who want to can go and ski. In the towns it is another story.

@responsiveme Here the summer is bearable as it is not too hot for a long period. In the north where I am, we are lucky if we get one month of really hot weather. We get storms which cool it down when it gets really hot so no complaining from me about that

@mysdianait I understand what you are saying as lots of people from snow bound countries say the same .
For us it is the summers that is very hot and humid ,Our winters are mild and we do our outdoor activities now
