Photo above shows my three-year-old Christmas star.
I removed the old foil wrapping then put a new one on it using a transparent tape. To make it glow at night , I placed a tubing with led lights inside.It has a control button to change the twinkling mode.
At least we have a Christmas lantern or star in our window to greet passers-by, specially children, a Merry Christmas.

I cover it with plastic to preserve it, and if the covering is damaged, I just change it.

we had to retire our old capiz lantern. i envy those who are mechanically gifted.

@acelawrites that's why we retired it,too many busted bulbs, and buying a new one is so expensive.

We also have a capiz lantern that does not light anymore maybe because of busted bulbs inside it and it might cost a lot if we will have it repaired; so I opted for this one.

It is nice to have Christmas decorations in the windows. We have a small Christmas tree in one of our windows. Merry Christmas
