~Children of God Wake Up~

Good morning everyone! I hope you're doing well and I hope you know God loves you. =) I was doing my devotions this morning and this verse hit me like a ton of bricks. We, as children of God sometimes forget how much mercy and forgiveness our Father has shown us. We get offended or angry at others but we expect God to forgive us for what we do against Him! When the cashier is new and slower than we like-show them mercy! Tell them what a good job their doing and thank them. Stop complaining because you are not perfect either! When a waitress has an attitude-let them know things will get better and you will be praying for them, or pray for them right there! Then bless them with a bigger tip. Stop posting about it on FB, you are not perfect! Show God's love everywhere!! Come on, be DIFFERENT than the rest of the world. Why do children of God look like everyone else when we have Jesus and His love inside of us?? We are called to be different and show love where ever we go! Did we forget something so important such as this?

Being kind toward the others should not be a matter of religion, we must all be kind, ready to understand and patient. One day we could be in need and we will appreciate.

@Ladyduck Oh I agree but especially as followers of Jesus this is our calling in life. Not to get anything in return or because we might need something one day-but because God loved us first and gave first to us. =)

@LovingMyBabies I see that my husband follows this same rule, even if he was born in a Jewish family.

@MALUSE I fully agree with you, I know several atheists who are a lot more better people than many Christians, who rush to Church only to show to the others how "good Christians" they are, but they do nothing to be kind and useful.

Life is better when we keep that attitude. We have far more peace.

@DWDavis Yes, peace would be lovely if there was a lot more of it. It starts with us. =)

@DianneN Nope it doesn't but walking like Jesus is what we are called to do when we are children of God. By calling ourselves Christians we have greater responsibility in life-to show love and bring others to God.

@DianneN You believe in God though, right? He wants love to be shown to all since God is good and love. All children of God should be examples of Him, by showing goodness.

@LovingMyBabies I don’t believe in Jesus, and I’m sure you know that by now. However, kindness and respect should be taught to all.

Jesus answered well when asked "What is the greatest commandment?" He answered the question with 2 answers. He said what the greatest commandment and what the second greatest commandment was also. The He provided the Greatest Example with His own life.

@cmoneyspinner The greatest of these is love. We should always remember the love, mercy and grace we are shown!

What a great reminder. And as I read this I have to remind myself not to complain or roll my eyes when the customer is short and sometimes rude. It works both ways, right?

@Juliaacv Yes of course it works both ways. =) We should all show love and kindness-especially children of God.

Amen!!! There is good in all situations! The other day, my family was on the road going somewhere. It was dark, raining, and these roads are dangerous. Out of nowhere, a car almost hits us and takes off up front ahead! I was sooo mad at first. Then I started thinking, why am I mad? like really? thankfully we were not hit! And with them driving ahead, it made it easier to see the outline of the road!

@Daelii I'm so glad you weren't hit and very grateful it ended the way it did! =) I'm also glad you stopped to think, there was good in what happened since you weren't hit.

Very good post. I always thought I was the same as everyone, to do everything normally that everyone should do, but as the years passed, I realized that I was different in the world of the same. Maybe it did not bring me good, but I'm glad I'm different, because I always try to be better.

That is a good reminder to all of us. Sometimes we forget that and its good once in a while to be reminded of such things. Your post is really wonderful and it makes me think and reflect of my attitude. Yes, we should always be humble. We are nothing without God. We should focus our eyes and heart on Him and be an obedient child.

I am much too grateful for all our Gods mercies to worry about all the small things. Also I am overcome with sadness at the plight of some situations to worry about and stress of small things. God is good Amen.

@Courage7 I understand, even in sad situations the world should see Jesus in us when life/satan squeezes us too hard.
