Picking up chicks

We spent a few hours in the centre of Mandurah yesterday. It is a coastal resort in Western Australia. It is summer here and the city was buzzing with people and traffic. We had intended visiting an art gallery but it was shut. We weren’t really surprised as it was New Year’s Day and most of the stores were shut. Even some of the eating houses were shut but those that were open were doing a roaring trade.
There were five of us and as a light lunch we shared two platters each consisting of potato chips, sweet potato chips and zucchini strips. With these we had three different dipping sauces. I didn’t get much chance to take photos as I didn’t see anything especially interesting or different. Resorts are much the same anywhere - but I did like this T-shirt.

Yes an nice and fun T shirt. Glad you had a good time and a nice meal. It is always interesting to explore places but New Years day seems to have a lot of places shut everywhere. I remember wandering round Oxford here with family and only finding one place to eat open, but that was years ago now.

The staff in one very small shop looked very frazzled. I guess they'd had a few very busy days.

@Juliaacv @JohnRoberts The 'dingo' one was the trademark for Dingo Flour. There is a large design on a huge silo in Fremantle and it was painted by Alan Bond who started life as a sign-writer and ended up buying the yacht that won the America's Cup. So the T-shirt would have meaning for Australians but probably not for anyone else.

@Mavic123456 Now that you've suggested the idea, I have to agree with you.

I am a t-shirt person. I do not make as many these days as I used to. I make the design I want for it on the computer and then go somewhere where they put it on the t-shirt. I just now relooked at the picture of the t-shirt and picking up chicks. That is so so adorable. Sorry I did not see it before.

Even though there wasn't to much to photograph I like what you chose! I love those kinds of shirts. When my children's father was alive my sister, my parents and I always bought him them. He had a lathe collection and always wore the most inappropriate ones at the worst times like to Christmas dinner

@JudyEv he has to learn the techniques. Both types of chicks would prefer gentle handling
