In the U.S. prices for gasoline/petrol have been declining in the past few weeks. I just filled my tank at $1.70 per gallon. (about $.45 per liter of gasoline) What are you paying for gas for your vehicle now?

Yeah, California and New York are usually both quite high! (That's not the reason I don't go to either of those states anymore, though. ) You could come visit me and get some cheaper gas while here.

@Marty1 Yeah, the average for your state is $2.42/gallon of gas. I just checked the prices for right this minute and it looks like a Shell station has gas for $2.39/gallon there. (Yeah, taxes on a gallon of gas there is 71.1 cents per gallon. That is definitely the highest per gallon taxes paid in the United States!) I've never taken an Uber. How safe do you feel when taking one? (I've heard some really scary stories and am positive I'd only call one in an Emergency! Although, the last Emergency we had here was the minor heart attack I had last summer. I still insisted on driving to the doctor's office and to the hospital afterwards. My insurance won't pay for an ambulance or the ER and Pretty doesn't have a license, either.) I'm not doing too badly right now. I've been going in to work very early and getting home late every day. I'm usually too tired to come to myLot. How have you been doing?

Can you remember what the price was the last time you filled your tank, ARM? Yeah, we were paying $2.40 a gallon or $.64 per liter (Do you pay for liters of gas?) for gas last month. It always cuts into the budget when prices for anything goes up.

@paigea You drive almost as much as I do, going back and forth to work, paigea. (about 31 miles a day) Your grocery store has a gas station attached to it? I thought only Walmart did that? (That'd be a nice perk, though. I wonder if Walmart would consider giving us a deal like that? Yes, I know better! *shake my head*)

@DaddyEvil Just used to it I guess. What ever the price, we get 7 cents per litre to spend in the grocery store. And we try to always shop at that station. So that is 28 cents less per gallon I guess. I try not to drive more than necessary but most days I work 50 km from home.

Wow! You pay a lot for gas! How often do you fill your tank? My car holds 16 gallons, so I paid a total of $27.35 for the tank full of gas. It takes me just over a week to go through that much gas. @aureliah Yeah, if we were paying that much for gas here I'd have to move closer to my job or find a job closer to my house. I filled my tank again today and paid $1.69/gallon, Cindy. You may have misunderstood what your niece said. According to AAA and Gas Buddy no gas station is currently paying $4 per gallon. But both say the price of gas will go above $4 per gallon relatively soon in California. Both AAA and Gas Buddy say the average for gas in Georgia is currently $2.08 per gallon right now.

Right now gas prices here run about $2.29 a gallon for unleaded. In Holiday, Florida, gas price averages $2.69 a gallon, Bonnie, so neither price is too bad for our areas. Missouri normally has one of the lowest prices overall for gas in the United States. Some of our friends on myLot have it a lot rougher than we do. Do you talk with @TheHorse very much or at all? @DaddyEvil There is a refinery at 150 km. We have taxes on everything here. For the gas, Europe is on the way to abandon it. Combustion engines are progressively banned from cities, it is scheduled for 2030 in Paris and for 2040 for all France. To encourage people to buy hybrid or electric cars they raise the price of gas twice a year. The yellow vests protests started because of a gas raise.

@topffer Good grief! The Tesla S cars only get 250 miles on a full battery, which costs the owner about $22. None of the other brands of electric cars get higher than 100 miles per full charge. How do countries expect their citizens to actually pay that and get such low mileage? (I drive over 18,000 miles a year. My car gets about 29 mpg.)

A litre of gasoline in our city runs about 92.9 and you know that is roughly about a third of the side of a US gallon. A month ago we were paying about .35 more per litre. They removed a tax on the gas, but I think that they'll slap it back on pretty soon.

@Juliaacv Of course your government loves tax money! The more they take in the more they can give to someone to test why birds eat worms! Things like that are what our government loves doing with all the tax revenue they receive but can't think of a better way to waste it! *shake my head* The latest stupid thing I heard about here was the over $1 billion spent to increase the trolley tracks by 10 miles in San Diego, California. *shake my head*

@moffittjc Uhm... actually, it isn't necessarily the gas stations doing the collusion. You need to remember, all the gas at all the different stations come from a very few (even fewer now, after Hurricane(s) Katrina, Rita, Ike and Gustav) US oil refineries. Out of those refineries damaged/destroyed by those four hurricanes 12 of the damaged refineries were rebuilt but nine others weren't and four refineries that weren't damaged at all were never brought back online afterwards. (Suspiciously, those four refineries were/are owned by ExxonMobile. More suspiciously, the articles I read detailing the reasons behind the shutdowns of four undamaged refineries back when this all happened are no longer accessible online. And I can't find any articles explaining why a Fortune 500 company saw fit to close working refineries during a time when 12 others were shuttered for repairs from hurricane damage.) So, the small stations are just keeping their finger(s) in the consumer's pockets as much as they can by following each other's pricing. The collusion on gas pricing belongs on someone else's doorstep.

@DaddyEvil I don't know where we stand compared to the rest of the county (I know California takes the prize in high gas prices), but Gainesville often has the highest gas prices in Florida. I'm pretty sure there is lots of collusion going on between the gas station owners, because you can drive 5 minutes outside of our city in either direction and all of sudden gas becomes $.20/gallon cheaper.
