Or rather, the pressure cooker is working while I mylot. I was talking about pains and such with a friend a couple of days ago. This seems to be a normal subject of conversation lately. I told her that I had bought hydrolyzed collagen for my knees. It is very expensive so I hope it does some good. My friend reminded me of another way of getting collagen that was very common and inexpensive many decades ago. Our mothers used it when we were children. At that time, it was a common meal to make a sort of cheese with feet from cows, pigs or chicken. The feet were boiled until the bones fell from the meat and with that meat and the thick soup our mothers made a cheese (lots of collagen there) with olives, peas and hard boiled eggs included. It was also used for people with anemia. So the pressure cooker is on at the kitchen and I am in my bedroom with you, friends Do you have a pressure cooker? Do oyou use it? I use it at least once a week.

That doesn't sound very appetizing, but if it works than that is good. I used to have a pressure cooker but I think the pressure nozzle has broken a bit. I don't really use the pressure cooker anyway, so it doesn't much matter to me.

The chesses, whatever animal´s feet they are made from, are delicious. They are spiced with mustard and sometimes they also have other veggies.

@marguicha Oh. I suppose it would be something I'd have to try once.

We boiled the cow feet, cut all the meat and eat the meat that is rich of collagen. I have a pressure cooker that I never use. Since the day the one of my sister-in-law "exploded" I never wanted to use it again.

There are only 2 reasons why a pressure cooker can explode. One is that it is badly washed, specially the valves. The other is that you left it with full heat and forgot about it.

@marguicha My brother told me it was a defective piece and after two uses it broke and the cooker exploded. They were lucky not to be around, because the lid broke the upper cabinet of the kitchen and the glass of the window.

No, I don't have a pressure cooker, but my grandma use one often. My dad talked about making head-cheese, from the thick broth after boiling a pigs head. I love head cheese!

I prefer feet´s cheese to head cheese. But they are very similar. I use my pressure cooker a lot. It saves me time and money.

@kobesbuddy I know. And I always cook my legumes there too. I cook a kilo of legumes there and freeze them in batches ready to mix with salt, spices and a sofrito.

I had two pressure cookers but did not like them in the end and sold both of them. I am glad you are making use of yours. What are you cooking in it? That cheese of old sounds great for the collagen. What was that cheese called in your language?

Queso (cheese) de pata (feet). The most delicate is made with chicken feet, but it is the hardest to make.

@Courage7 It is amazing how old fashioned cooking helped with some ailments when people did not take so many pills.

You really take good advantage of the time and this is probably why you could earn more from Mylot I have an electrical pressure cooker as I don't know how to use a normal one. The electrical pressure cooker works very well and it is very easy to use. All I have to do is to press a button

I don't have a pressure-cooker. Gelatine is made from the feet too isn't it? Maybe gelative has lots of collagen too.

It does. To both questions. Animal feet are a great source of collagen.
