Girls, please tell me: Are diamonds the woman's best friends?

I was watching the movie Moulin Rouge with my girlfriend, and at one point in the movie, Satine (Nicole Kidman) sings / plays a part of that song... So I questioned my girlfriend about the lyrics, and she quickly replied:
Me: "Do you agree with that song?"
My girlfriend: "Yes, baby! You're awesome, a really good friend and love... But diamonds, oh diamonds are girls best friends."
Me (thinking): "Oh, my... I'm screwed".
Girls (and boys, if you want to answer it)... What can you tell about this situation? Is it time for me to break my relationship?

If you were talking to my mom about that she would say yes they are, she can sink to the bottom of the ocean with her rings lol..me no I happy with the little dimond that is in my wedding ring.

I never had one and I have never had the need of one. For me, memories are girl´s best friends.

To some women flowers or an "I love you" or a present for no reason can be their best friend! If you don't know what makes her happy then it is time to break up the relationship! :O)

If you break up with her because she likes diamonds then you are a jerk boyfriend, you just asked her a question, you made no promise to buy her any.

It's a girl's dream to own atleast a diamond ring My engagement ring had three tiny diamonds in it and later with my own money I got a bracelet and a pair of earrings.
Better start saving now

I like pretty jewelry, but have never cared for diamonds. I love my engagement ring, but it's the only diamond I want.
