Normally, I read the news headlines to know what is happening in our world. I have no interest to read further as they relate mostly to political mudslinging or endless blame games that test the patience of common folks.
This planet is a gift and we are part of it though for a blip in time. It is our creator’s munificence that we enjoy though we get possessive with “ours” and “yours.” Then at the end of the day, we leave without a trace.
This made my day. What a largeness of the heart and humanity at its best from both. The lesson is the innate decency and empathy that often gets buried deep inside us will never die.

Most of the news highlighted make us sick in the pit of the stomach and we are reduced to mere helpless spectators. It is mostly "how good they are, and how bad others are" while, in fact, all end up self-serving, worse than those they portrayed as bad! siva

@Shiva49 I hate the tribe called politicians. They are a selfish breed of aliens who care only about themselves , I hate their lies and their show of concern. I wonder how people even think they need discuss these creatures everyday. The less said the better. These are unfortunately the news makers too.

@sofssu We need leaders with a heart and wisdom but they are a rare breed if any at all.
If anyone wants to enter politics we are led to believe they are up to no good.
Then also, whoever we elect to power, the boss remains the same; those who call the shots are the greedy, selfish and egoists out to divide the common folks and use them as pawns.

We have a lot of potential for good and that is why God is patient with us.

@Shiva49 It is so much better that we help one another than blow off the heads of one another.

@1hopefulman Yes, even animals kill only to satiate their hunger.
However, we do for any reason or for no reason even! siva

Sharing and caring for each other is of immense importance.
"Let's take care of each other," Colin Powell says here.
Love shares itself with all who connect to it, and we can connect to others in this spirit of love too, only as much as we share all of who we are, and this shows we care too, when we be all we can for another and hold nothing of ourselves back.

We should always put our best foot forwards, and hold gently someone else's best foot too

@Shiva49 Yes, thanks for sharing that item with us siva.
"Don't bother people for help without first trying to solve the problem yourself."
Colin Powell is quoted as saying this, but as a result of what happened to him here, he might have realised that help, and helping others, is a form of caring. Sometimes people want to be bothered!

@innertalks It is interesting that the war veteran had an artificial leg but still managed to help out.
Powell is 81 and hence would have welcomed, appreciated, the help extended.
I myself would appreciate such help and caring in times like these.and would not also miss an opportunity to help and care - siva

We need reassurance in this troubled world that love connects and is the binding force for us to survive and even find paradise right here.
I skip the details of daily news, that is more like a tightening noose, as they depict blind fury and violence. Despite our leaders swearing by their faiths that extol love and compassion, they go by might is right.
“You touched my soul and reminded me about what this country is all about and why it is so great,” Powell wrote. “Let’s stop screaming at each other. Let’s just take care of each other. You made my day.”. His sentiments apply to humanity in general and being grateful to our creator and for his creations.
Yes, this news made my day too and I was in a hurry to share - siva
