Do you ever have typo-ridden comments that you can't edit? Duh! I just came up with a solution.

Now and again, I encounter an old comment of mine with a typo that could change its meaning or render it incomprehensible. Sometimes said comments have no responses on them.
OCD person that I am, I hit edit to correct the error. But once in awhile the comment can't be edited!
Until it happened to me just now, I used to tear my hair, gnash my teeth, and flail around a bit on the floor.
But then it hit me. All I had to do was copy the tainted comment, delete it, and then paste it as a new comment, editing out any typos I find.
Why do such epiphanies sometimes take so long to occur? Have you ever encountered a comment of yours that couldn't be edited?

I've run into this mostly on Facebook, where I've accidentally posted the wrong GIF and couldn't figure out how to edit or delete it. Sometimes I can fix it, sometimes I can't. When I can't, I post a retraction and apology below it (especially if it was wildly inappropriate for the context).

Also, the photo above reminds me of an antique photo of the child you used to jokingly refer to as "Mrs. Horse".

@spiderdust That's Mark Twain's daughter, Susy. I would love to have met her.

@TheHorse That would be a worry. Then you would have to ask someone to send a message to you asking if you meant to do it or not.
And carrying on from there - what if you messaged back and said yes, you meant to block yourself? What then?

Yes I have encountered a few comments of mine misspelled before. When it happens I just try to edit so it makes sense, if I am not able to retype I just wish the person can guess what I meant lol.

@jvicentevalera Sigh. I'm not into astrology. At least I wasn't until about 10 seconds ago. I'm a Virgo too.

@TheHorse I totally get it. I am perfectionist too, when it comes to working, cleaning, organizing etc. I wonder what zodiac sign are you? Don't know if you're into that stuff, but I am Virgo, and Virgo is the most perfectionist sign of them all.

What if I had loved the song, found a connection between it and our discussion, and blabbed on as if nothing had happened. Would that have thrown you into "existential crisis"? As Jimi sings, "There ain't no life nowhere!" Or something like that.

@TheHorse NOOOO! the song that got posted was so inappropriate. And I am sure you did not comment on my music comment. I will post it now if you really wanna see how bad it is.

That easy huh?!
I've seen some of my comments that have some typos but were able to edit them. I haven't encountered one I couldn't edit yet though.
