Trying to Work in Peace

That Doodles the cat can be so annoying sometimes. He demands attention except when he naps.
Our son can work from home a lot on his laptop or phone, but using his home office can be a pain in the neck if Doodles the cat is around. Doodles insists on meowing at a closed door. If allowed in, he wants to play, meow, or be rubbed. Not so good when on the phone talking to clients.
Yesterday, our son sat at his kitchen table for a few minutes to finish some work. As soon as he sat down, guess who showed up? Our son quickly grabbed one of Doodles’ resting pads, put it on the table, and was able to get to work in peace while Doodles “rested” until it was time to go for a walk.
When we have Doodles at our house, he follows me around, too. I think he’s happiest around those he loves.
Do you have a pet who craves your attention when awake?

Yes, but they know I need to be online and seem to be ok with it most of the time, of course when they're hungry they make a lot of racket .... right now I'm getting the look from Ally, she is the patient one but will sit and stare at me to get attention.

@JudyEv

At least she let you lift her down. Doodles would never allow that. The only time we can lift him is when he sits or stands. Otherwise, we get clawed and bitten with his extra long claws and extra large teeth. We are now wise about that.

Cats are fond of rubbing their body on your legs when you're sitting on a chair.

I do. I have a dog like that. She follows me everywhere-even to the bathroom! I usually don't allow her in with me so she will lay in front of the door til I am finished.

@DianneN I already have 2 little ones that follow me in, not having a dog too! What's a woman got to do for 5 minutes of bathroom peace?

@DianneN it is smart solution.
Pets are like toddlers with lots of tantrums.

My Sid comes and goes and I have plenty of alone time. When he does want attention he likes to be petted and hugged and then he goes away again. Cute photo of Doodles.

Right Little Tigger is out of his cage nipping at my sister's feet not wanting to stay in his enclosure in the sitting room and kitchen hoping over the couch and running down to my room. At 8 weeks and bigger than his feral siblings outside as soon as the cold front is passed good he is about to be introduced back to his feral society according to my sister (I believe it when I see it. as he has her heart strings since she brought him in when his mother rejected him on another cold day telling me to make up some formula fast. Little Man and Little Girl (Doodles look alikes and we nursed them after their mother wouldn't feed them) demand attention when I take food to them in the afternoons and are getting harder to contain as they want more free romp of the house which is coming once we feel they will be safe with Dixie. Theri Mother Mittens a dark gray version of Doodles now when we feed the ferals wants to be under my feet when I go out to feed them and I have to be careful to watch when I am walking out to where the Ferals are fed

I don't see how your sister would be able to part with Little Tigger at all. The two of you are so wonderful to take such good care of those babies, even the those outside. You have such kind and huge hearts! And anything that is a Doodles look alike is good in my book!

At least three cats claim that title. Mumps who is female is the one who likes me a lot followed by Burt who is the youngest and Bond who is the middle like to come to me to give them some attention.

I do. The youngest of our two cars loves attention. He has to always be beside us. If we are sitting down or in bed he has to have a paw on you. The other cat likes attention but it comes in spurts. Some days he wants to snuggle and other days not sure.
Cute Doodles..he knows that it is all about him and so it should be!

She was often on the bonnet of the car in the sun but wouldn't get off if we needed to drive off somewhere. We'd have to lift her down. If you started backing out slowly she still wouldn't shift.
