Speak in public makes you feel nervous?

Have you ever had a situation where you had to speak in public? Many people (maybe more than you can imagine) feel very nervous when they need to do this (for example, in presentation of college papers or work meetings in front of your boss). Would you be one of them or do you deal well with this kind of situation?

@WiseGhots Yes I have had and I hate it. I am more a one on one person. Too many people bother me.

I would be one of them, but I have a husband and two daughters who don't suffer from this fear of public speaking.

Not at all. I joined oratorical contests when I was young, I enrolled in a public speaking speech course while in college, these in a way helped removed some butterflies in my stomach lol

I haven't done that for a long time. I used to act as part of a youth theatre group. Other than that, I think I only did public speaking once. I was about 14 and I vaguely remember something. I don't recall what it was all about but I was chosen, along with some other girls, to represent our school (I think) at some speaking event. It wasn't until just now that I even remembered it! I might still have a certificate for it somewhere. Anyway, I've gone off on a tangent. The closest thing I get to public speaking now is job interviews. I'm getting better at them. I think that it takes practice to be confident for some people. I think I would be OK at public speaking but I'd do what I always do - have a chat with my partner beforehand so that he can remind me how great I am and that I wouldn't be in that position if I wasn't capable! :D :P :)

I don't mind speaking in front of smaller groups or in front of youth, but yes, speaking in front of really large groups can make me nervous! It really depends on the topic too and how comfortable I am with it.

i don't know if nervous is the word, but i don't care for it. i've been told i have a heavy accent,so i'm really not the best choice for public speaking.

I've been a teacher, professor, and model and commentator. Public speaking makes me nervous, but I love it.
