I keep all my shots on external drives but usually I only look through 2 of them, I have 5, and a couple of days ago I looked through one I hadn't bothered with in a few years. Anyway, what I find interesting about El Paso is that most homes are single story here. It would have been much wiser if they had built 2 story homes instead. Just my thoughts, I'm sure plenty of El Pasoans would disagree. There are plenty of mobile homes through out EP which of course are not 2 story but wouldn't it be economic if they were? I was on Scenic Dr, when I took this shot, I was facing exactly easterly.

One-story homes are cheaper to build, but they are not energy efficient. Nice photo.

You made the correct choice @LadyDuck El Paso isn't my idea of a place where people can find a lot to do. But if you ever want honest and really good Mexican food then we are the place to come to. Many of our Mexican restaurants are run by people who grew up in Mexico.

Yes it is, the view is of only part of El Paso, I do not possess the wide angle lense required to take a shot of the whole east side.

Nice scenic photo of El Paso. I can see the flatness of the land easily. I do know that heat rises and a two story home would get extra hot in your heat. Tiny homes are very similar to mobile homes, but the second stories are usually lofts with not much headroom.

I didn't know that. Yeah, it'll be hot in any home that isn't made of thick stucco. Those ancient indians really knew what they were doing.

@rebelann They sure did. There are lots of stucco homes in Florida, too.

It doesn't feel like it @just4him I always think of it as a small town .... until I travel to the far east side

nice photo. I live in a mobile home. I'm glad mobile homes aren't 2 story. If it was, Lily (my black cat) would have caused me to fall down the stairs alot.

Thank you. I wouldn't mind having a second floor but I'd keep the cats downstairs

Australia was once mostly bungalows but there are a lot of two-storey buildings now.

It's possible that 2 stories are beginning to be built as El Paso county has almost run out of room ..... so much of the desert wildlands have been destroyed so that most any wildlife that used to live in it have disappeared, I find that so tragic.

@rebelann Block sizes here are miniscule now and people are going up rather than out. Some of the houses almost touch each other.

Yeah, I like it too but it does take some getting used to as it is very dry here which tends to dry out the sinuses and skin.

Very nice photo. Do you think its because the heat rising to the top floor as why they dont have 2 stories?

Not really, personally I think it's because it's cheaper to build and most people here don't make a lot of money so they can't afford the more expensive homes.
