My Dog Ate My Work

Since many of us are writers of one type or another I thought I would share this story with you: John Steinbeck's setter pup, Toby, ate the first draft of his "Of Mice and Men". We all know how much work goes into a manuscript. Having half of it eaten would have been devastating. He wrote his publisher , was able to rewrite the draft and on February 6, 1937 his novella was published.

I heard Isaac Newton's cat did something similar to his research. He did not get mad at him.I think I would.

@WiseGhots No ..Newton was basically a cool guy. Never got mad with anybody. I think the apple falling on head did that to him.

We think of that as a tired excuse but this just shows that there is truth in the stereotype.
