Film overload - three in one night

The photo is of a tree tying itself in knots as did some of the people in the films we saw last night.
I’ve been mentioning the International Film Festival that has been held in here. Despite our best intentions we weren’t able to see as many of the films as we would have liked. The Festival finished yesterday and we intended to see two films but ended up seeing three. All were well worth watching.
The first was set in Tokyo and called Shoplifters. It centred round a family living in poverty in suburban Tokyo. The second was Woman At War about an environmental activist waging a one-woman war against the aluminium industry. This was set in Iceland, a country with very different terrain to Australia. The third was C’est La Vie, a French film which was a whole lot of laughs from beginning to end.
The only downside was that we bought a snack from a nearby fast-food place before the last film and I had a seafood salad. Sometimes I have an intolerance to something in seafood and/or Asian dishes and I start to itch badly. Then I come up in welts.
This happened last night. Once I realised I was scratching here, there and everywhere, I stopped. Luckily, it didn’t get worse and an anti-histamine when I got home ensured I had a good night’s sleep and I’m fine again this morning.

Well it sounds like you had a good time, other than the allergic reaction!

Be careful with that intolerance, it can become more serious. I always carry Benadryl with me, I had to use it when I took a cold medicine that started to close my throat.

Yes, that sort of spoilt the last film a bit as I had to sit there trying not to scratch.

Being itchy drives me crazy. I'm currently recovering from an unintended encounter with poison ivy so just thinking about being itchy makes me want to scratch my legs.
I'm glad the anti-histamine provided the necessary relief!

@SophiaMorros I don't know how extensive the itching is but dissolving carb soda in a bath sometimes helps relieve itching.

@JudyEv I was fortunate to be taught a neat trick for dealing with poison ivy itches. Running the hottest water I can stand over the itchy spot seems to "reset" the nerve endings and temporarily take the itchiest away. Poison ivy, when scratched (whether intentionally or by accident) only gets itchier.
Over the past couple of weeks I've taken quite a few scalding hot showers right before bed.
