Can't find shorts or anything else to wear to the beach :(

I am leaving to Dominican Republic from the 14th-18th of February for hubby's friend's wedding. I need to figure out what to wear to the beach as the obvious bathing suit is out of the question. Can't wear that during that time of the month, which happened to fall right when we have to go there. Plus, my bathing suits don't fit me anyway and I can't find any. I tried on a pair of shorts I have at home but they no longer fit me. I looked at the size and it says 0. I am nowhere that size now. Tried looking at stores for some shorts but hardly anything there. And what I did manage to find that I wanted to try on was no good. I'd think shorts would be available all year round. Guess not. Now I am left without them. I tried looking for some short loose dresses or at least some thin sporty pants or khakis that are way above the knee but found nothing... What the heck am I gonna wear to the beach? I don't wanna be stuck in long pants or jeans at the beach. And I don't really have a dress for the wedding either. At least not a very dressy one as that one is a bit tight on me. I guess the one I do have that's an everyday dress will have to do. I should have tried everything on a long time ago so I'd have plenty of time to look for stuff to buy if needed. I didn't do that. And now I am screwed. Leaving things for the last minute is a definite no-no! Lesson learned. Or is it?

I don't know if you care to do any thrift shopping - but that's what I'd do! I actually don't like the idea of getting a bathing suit there (maybe if it were a bathing suit top) . . . but there's always shorts, loose bathing suit covers, capris, summery dresses . . . you could get it fast and wash it before your trip.

I've never shopped at a thrift store before. Can't say I am opposed to it but no time to go to one.

Well, find clothes that are practical and less costly. Sorry but can't help you there. Better find the right clothes fast.

My mom found some stuff at her house that I fit into it so took it. Ended up wearing some of it.

I can't believe that stores aren't flooding the racks with clothes for people vacationing at this time of year. I would start looking in stores that you haven't gone into as of yet. We went to a wedding in January and it was pretty easy to find what we needed. Good luck though. Sounds like you are starting to panic!!

I don't have time anymore to look for stuff. Leaving this Thursday. And I've been to a lot of places already. I am rather calm but not looking forward to long leggings or whatever at the beach in mid-80 degree weather. Not having a bathing suit I can leave without because I won't be able to go swimming anyway.

Gosh I hope you find something to wear quickly since your trip is almost here.

I managed to figure things out. Went to the beach only ones and I just went swimming in whatever I was wearing. It wasn't uncomfortable.

I would never let a period keep me from wearing a bathing suit or swimming.

The beach vacay was in DR. Too cold to go swimming here... well at least in my neck of the woods.
