Hello everyone.
My daughter will be in grade 7 next school year and she wanted to see if there is another opportunity for her in another school. She is in a private school, she is okay with continuing there but still want to try other school.
One of the school we try is a Science high school here. It is actually difficult to get in a science school here. For one, the students there are all government scholars so no fee. But they have a maintaining grade and very high standards.
My daughter had an exam there last January 26. The total number of applicants who took the exam were around 1,200 or more. And the list of qualified applicants were cut down to 314 only. And they will still interview the kids. So I am pretty sure the 314 will still be cut short.
I am very happy that my daughter is one of the qualified applicants.
Happy. Happy. Happy.

my friend experienced the same thing with her daughter. they even went to the school for a look-see but eventually her daughter changed her mind. she was relieved because the school is very far so for now all four kids are still in the same school.
so your daughter passed the exam, and the next phase is the interview? when will it be?

Congratulations to your daughter! Science high schools have been established for the poor but deserving students (with above average grades) whose parents cannot afford to send them to private schools. Sadly though, in our city, there are many students conducted by parents to school in private cars. It seems unfair for the poor but deserving students whose slots have been reduced because of the entry of students from families who can afford to send them to private schools.
