Partial retraction and a thank you

Yesterday I posted a note about birds and the things that kill them. I would like to make sure that the two points raised are carried forward as they are critical.
I used numbers from the ASPCA and in reviewing the numbers I read them incorrectly (the ASPCA published that cats kill between 8 and 40 million birds per month, not per year as I said.) A huge thank you to JJ who actually shared an even worse number (more than 1 billion birds killed annually by cats)
Thanks for fixing my error JJ!
The other interesting point raised was by Topffer and was related to something I hadn't even considered that power lines, in particular, high capacity power. lines also kill many more birds than we realize.
Thanks, Topffer for adding a category I had not even considered!
I know that it is important to check your data, and I didn't so my apologies to the readers of that thread.
The other reality that scares me is the origin (who paid) for the two primary studies against clean energy or renewable energy sources.
Clean energy will change the world for the better. It is time for the US to catch up to the ROW (rest of the world).
Do you have a clean energy source?

We have lots of wind farms in Kansas. I cannot use it directly but can buy from my power company that uses it some. Of course people will tell you wind energy is bad for the environment, the motors leak oil and toxins and birds get killed by them. Is there an answer. I surely do not know. Birds fly into my glass windows and sometimes die.

Cats, kill 1000 times more birds than wind turbines. The small amount of leaking oil over the course of 10 years or more is minor.
