It's a Wild World

Received a crazy phone call that reminded me the world we live in is indeed wild. I never answer my landline. All calls go right to voicemail. But this morning as I was cleaning, a call came in and I saw the number as my Dad's area code. Of course I picked up the phone. My Dad passed in 2017, by the way. Not sure what I was thinking, why didn't I just hang up. But I listened and it was someone asking if I had closed out his estate and they had details that were perhaps missed by the family. The family is me, myself and I. So I knew I missed nothing. But the call drew me in as they are trying to do. It was a recording and I listened to the end. The entire 2-3 minutes I was thinking of my Dad. I really miss seeing his name come up on my phone. The recording was of course made up and automated. But I see how easy some can get caught up in these spam calls, especially when you see a familiar number or area code. Be careful is all I will say. I was reminded of this classic Cat Stevens song.
