when i'm typing too fast, i would get the 'invalid password' message.
lately, though, i would also get 'user doesn't exist.'
why? because i typed 'hearandthere.'
another time, 'heraandthere.'
do you ever mistype your name?
or mix your passwords - for example, using an old one or the one for another account?
i always log out of everything before leaving the computer, so i have to re-log into all accounts when i use it again.
oh, and i always make sure to unclick 'remember me' anywhere i see it.
(i used microsoft's snipping tool to capture mylot's log-in page)

even if there's only the two of you at home and you each have your own computers, i know you're still very careful when it comes to online sites.

@hereandthere My husband does not use my computer and should he call myLot from his computer he has to log in. When I use my laptop I am required to log in even if I did not log out from my desktop.

@LadyDuck oh really? i thought if you're logged into a site on one device, you're also logged in if you transfer to another device.

@hereandthere You do that with reading? I tend to skip words at times when reading

@much2say especially newspaper headlines, like if they're 2-3 lines long. i would read the top and mix it with the bottom words and confuse myself.

It can happen. I try to make sure I double check and my PC remembers all of my passwords so that helps too.

yeah, i think i should go back to good old pen and paper. i listed them all last year on a notepad when i noticed my memory is getting spotty and saved it here in the computer.
but before the year ended, the hard drive crashed and i had to buy a new one so i lost everything.

@hereandthere This is a weird thing, I backuped some scans of mine (documents), but now that I look back at the backup, nothing was there. I lost quite a few months of works! Did the same happen to you?

@hereandthere yes, I had to do that, retrieve p/w a few months back when I had some troubles with my laptop & windows. THAT cleaned out everything, my old setting for all my favorite websites included. Such a painful time!

Since I'm the only person using my computer I don't have to log out at all. I don't use any other computer other than my own. And when there's a software update or I need to clean up everything and need to log in, I just type the first letter of my username and my computer fills in everything including the password.

@hereandthere Yep and it synchs with all my gadgets. So whether the password is saved on my phone or my laptop, when I open either of my gadgets, the password is automatically logged in.

I've had the same problem in other sites when typing my password. As it turned out, one of the vowel keys on my keyboard wasn't working. And I thought my account was hacked already!

i didn't realize that the red message was 'user didn't exist' so i just kept typing my password.
but yeah, this very old keyboard is starting to mess up. some of the keys dip to the left, some to the right.

) I never log out, so I never really need to log in. (I have no clue what is my username or p/w if I need to use it to log in.)
