We have been juggling with the VA about getting community based services for Bob, both because of the drive and because of the procedure we want that VA does not do.
It was almost like this doctor had never seen Bob before. He is going to get an ultrasound and stress test on his heart as that has not been done as a follow up.
This doctor said "you had a heart blockage" you need to take cholesterol medication. So, off Bob goes to go on a statin.
After that, we went to find a new restaurant we were interested in trying. Bob turned the wrong way when we left the doctor with me saying to go the other way. We drove all over Wichita, finally located it probably less than a mile from the cardiologist.
The parking was crazy and confused and he is bullheaded. He ended up driving on a sidewalk, and getting told "nicely" how to get out of the pickle he was in.
I wanted to crawl under the seat.
The meal was good, though. It was a German restaurant. The chef is from Germany and the food was more like what he was expecting. In Kansas we mostly have Mennonite German cooking.
We came home. He slept two and a half hours.
I hate to see this lovely weather disappear, but it is going to.

Yes, it was good. Bob has fond memories of being in the Army in Germany. This goes along with those memories. I did like the jaegersnitzel.

Bob is still in recovery mode from his surgery. He admits that likely he is also bored. Some of these medicines make him tired as well. German Mennonite food has a Russian or Ukrainian slant to it. I like it just fine, though.

Well, glad it all went well and you made it to the restaurant. My favorite in German restaurants is sauerbraten as long as it is not too sour. Hope you have a good night and your weather doesn't turn bad again.

I did not look carefully to see if that was on the menu. We both had Jaegersnitzel.

Mennonite German cooking is more like Russian or Ukrainian Cooking. When we have gone to the restaurants there has been more ham, german sausage, and things like Verenika and Benne Bierogi. Desserts are cherry mose and plummamose-- cherries in sauce or raisins in sauce. They serve cabbage soups, and borschts--not always with beets.

@GardenGerty Locally made German sausage is fantastic stuff though not good for me. My Mom used to make a wow! pie that she learned about through her German mother. It was rhubarb raisin pie and had a meringue on top.

The thing is that the other Cardiologist never said he had a blockage in his heart. He said a chamber had ceased pumping as it should. The blockage that caused the stroke was supposedly in a blood vessel. We hated that the other cardiologist never did any follow up to see if the treatments he was on were helping. So, this doctor says "take a statin" he is doing so. We are pleased that he wants to do the follow up that has not been done in a year and a half. How are you doing?

@GardenGerty Sounds like you got a cardiologist who really cares now. I am doing okay. Haven't been feeling good the last few days but I am sure it will pass.

Tony`s new doctor ordered Liptor for Tony, without doing a cholesterol test, I did not buy them either. Just because he had stents put in back in 2014 does not mean he needs statins.
Lordy! I think Tony and Bob could be brothers.

For now, Bob is taking them. The nurse said it is particularly that the doctor wants the LDL below 70. Yeah, atorvastatin is Lipitor. I am refusing it right now, and my new doctor is not pushing it. I need to get copies of some of Bob's older tests. I am afraid if he refuses to take it this doctor will not work with him. This one is not pushing the blood thinners at this time.
