Welcome to the new fish!

I have had a small fish tank in my office for some time, but since the last of my neon tetras died last year the tank has been empty. However, all that changed at the weekend when six new tenants took up residence. These are rummy-nosed tetras. You haven't heard of them before? Neither had I before I saw them at my local aquarium suppliers. They seem happy enough at present, although they like to stick together as a bunch - who knows what horrors might lurk behind that plant or piece of rock?

Yes, you do have to change the water and clean the tank fairly regularly - but you don't have to take the fish for walks!

I would like a fish tank, and Little One keeps asking if we can have one as well. I'm only worried about what happens if we go on holiday - how often do they need to be fed?

They should be fed every day - it is important not to overfeed by thinking that you can feed double one day and none the next.

@indexer Is it possible to get some sort of timed feeder?

@Fleura It sounds as though it should not be beyond the wit of man to come up with something like that - but it's not something I've looked into.

I never heard of those fish, but they are cute. I never had an aquarium.

It would be nice to know what's going on in their minds sometimes, wouldn't it?
