Class reunions- have you gone to one?

I guess some of your classmates have done quite well financially.

@wolfgirl569 I wonder if one reason for class reunions is to show off? That would not appeal to me.

@1hopefulman No but many were the type that have to put on the show. Even while drowning in debt.

That is very understandable that you feel that way. I have a feeling that it will be hard to find many students. I tried to organize one a few years ago and I was only able to locate a handful.

@kepweng Yes, high school was free. We only had to pay for books and supplies. However, university is not free and I went for one year and then I got married and had to work.

I understand! In a Catholic school we were divided. The girls on one side and the boys on the other. So, I don't think I know any of the girls. I had a part time job all through high school and so did not hang around much. I remember 3 friends that I was close to but I have tried to find them a few times and I was unsuccessful. I'll see how it develops before I decide whether I will attend or not.

@1hopefulman No, they didn't have their first until about the 40th year. Then they've had two or three since.

I think that if we had kept in touch over the years it would be pleasant but we have had no contact in 50 years and I have a feeling there won't be many if it goes through.

@1hopefulman Let people remember you as they had 50 yrs ago. It is better that way I think. (I saw some old friends' pic currently on Facebook, and wanted to cry a bit.)

I understand! I had 3 close friends that I hung around and if they will be there I will go.

Lucky you @1hopefulman Since most of my school mates back then were Army brats many did not stay long enough for me to get to know them or visa versa.

Yes, after 10 years it would have been interesting but 50 years later it will be a big challenge.

Glad it was a positive experience for you. If ours works out, it will be 50 years later and the only one that we have ever had.

@JudyEv I am waiting to see what develops before I decide whether I will go or not. If my close friends are not going to be there then I see no reason for going.

@1hopefulman I do hope it works out. We have had quite a few get-togethers now although not everyone gets to them all.

I will go if any of my close friends will be there but when I tried to organize one, I was not able to locate any of them. I think that they no longer live in the area.

Well, you are very young and so that made the reunions more memorable. Mine will be 50 years later and I wonder who is still around and able to attend.

@Sheali I have tried to find them a few times but have been unable. I have a feeling they are no longer in the area.

I don't know! We have never had one and I have never gone to any school reunion and so I have no idea if it is worth going. I guess it would be nice to see the friends we had while in school.

I understand! I think we especially want to see the ones that we were close to.

@TheHorse I had 3 close buddies and I lost touch with them many years ago. A few times I have tried to find them but they have seemed to have disappeared.

That must have been disappointing if no one one showed up but what about the organizers, were they there?

@1hopefulman no. My best friend thinks it was fake news because we can't find out who was behind the posting on facebook.
