@JudyEv saw it. what's image 3713?

@JudyEv i went to landscape samples and one image caught my eye - dsc_3713. i was just curious what that blue and white thing was. i look at it again now - so it's a boat and it's reflection? yesterday, i thought it was a top view of something - which wouldn't make sense with all the green.

@hereandthere Is that what you get if you hover over it? It's the number of the image generated by the camera. I should probably give the photo a name.

@JudyEv Maybe he should have put that slogan on his business cards. "I just get lucky".

I don't think it is anything particularly special. He just got lucky. He has a Nikon D5100 and the lens is a Sigma 18-300MM Zoom. f/4.8 1/2000 sec. I just asked him what camera and lens he has and I get this great rigmarole so I hope you're happy. Now he's saying 'overwhelm them with information'. Now we've sold the bus he has bought a new camera - a Nikon D7500. He SAID he needs a backup! It certainly got my back up!! Just joking really.

Haha. I make so many typos now and my mouse does silly things. If it's not careful I'll be giving it to a cat.

@JudyEv I know that t makes a big difference. I know I have worked on some of mine and the before and after is incredible.

Yes, a drone will be next on the wish list for the exact reason that you say.

@Plethos There are laws here too now but over an estate that for sale, if you've been asked to do it, I think we'd be okay. But a good point just the same.

@JudyEv - also, better start researching for any laws that may affect how you can use a drone over estates. theres some crazy laws here in the u.s. in some parts of the country and cities/towns.

I'll pass on your kind words. He has bought a new camera now as a backup. A Nikon D7500. The lenses are interchangeable with his old one which is a bonus.

@JudyEv Oh well, we do not shoot the photos to sell them. My husband justs shoots whatever he likes and lots of vacation pictures. I upload almost everything to EyeEm and hope for the best. EyeEm does also select the best photos to upload them to Getty Images which is HUGE. I do get a sale every other month. I have earned whopping $79 in 2 years, so nothing to REALLY earn money.... yet... I try to convince myself that one day it will be worth all the time *lol* But then there is lots of competition and of course professional photographers with shooting sessions solely for the production of stock photos. They know their niches and the current demand and THEY do earn several hundred or thousands of Dollars per month. But I don't do that with my job and the family keeping me busy. So I could recommend EyeEm as a hobby. If you ever sell anything, they pay via Paypal without any crazy cashout limit.

@stine1online Thanks very much for that information. It was good of you to go to the trouble of explaining it. We might have a look at EyeEm.

That's interesting. We haven't really looked into that side of things. Is it worth the effort? Do they pay very much? Or do you put the photos up and wait for someone to buy one?

@JudyEv I would agree, it has to be difficult to get that really great shot, but he must seem to have quite an eye or always be in the right place at the right time because he gets so many of those really great shots.

This is really good - out of the box in a way. It's difficult to get that really great shot.

@Juliaacv He has certainly improved a lot over the last few years. I think it is the animal ones where it can be difficult for everything to come together.

That's interesting. It's good to have some credentials. Vince did weddings years ago. They are pretty time-consuming now.

@Shiva49 I can understand you thinking 'make hay while the sun shines'. We are getting older all the time so we need to do what we can when we can.

@JudyEv I had a very good family friend while in Indonesia over thirty years ago. He moved to Sydney later and is an Australian citizen for years. I used to get him quotes of cameras and lenses from here and take him around to buy them during his visits. His wife used to tell that he was always thrilled to buy and use them. Age has caught up with them, so no more of those times now. "Make hay while the sun shines" plays in my mind all the time - siva

@JudyEv I thought of having some new ones made out for my writing business. It would make my nosing around with my camera everywhere more "legitimate" if I could indicate my blogger status with web addresses to prove it. It also might bring me more readers.

If you don't have cards to hand out, no-one knows how to find you. And it's still more a hobby than a business.
