I see a lot of posts here from people who's mother has died. My mother is alive, but she is fading away from me. In fact, the roles have changed and I am more like the mother and she is more like the child.
She has dementia, and her's is very slow progressing. Day by day, year by year, she is less and less the Mom I knew.
Every day, she says the same things, tells me the same stories of the past. Certain parts seem to stick in her mind. She lives in the past because she cannot retain any new information.
The photo is a picture of my mom in her 40s. She is 83 now.

I've been down that road and it's a long and sad one. My mom passed two years ago and dealing with her dementia is exactly how you described it. My mom was 93 so I was blessed to have her for so long.
Your mom was very pretty and I hope all your good memories sustain you through this difficult time.

So many now a days live long and lose their memory, become stricken with Alzheimer's or other dementias. The ones that have good care, like your mom does, are truly blessed.

It's sad when our parents start to fade. Both my parents are gone, Mom to Alzheimer's and Dad to dementia.
