A really fun practice tonight!

The rock band I play with had a really enjoyable practice tonight. One of our band mates is injured (he hurt his his knee skiing), so we hadn't practiced in the studio (plugged in) for weeks. But tonight, it seemed like the bad habits had disappeared, and the music shone through. I was having a great time on bass, and was singing harmonies I hadn't sung before. Everyone seemed "dialed in," and the music sounded great. Have you ever been in a situation where you "take a break" from what you've been doing, "unlearn" all of the bad habits, and are at your best? I'm in a good mood right now

Does it sometimes actually help you perform better?

@Janet357 An interesting phenomenon. I wonder if the fancy psychologists have a name for it.

As usual, the bass player is hidden in the back.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that possibility. My mind wanders a lot no matter what. I'm not sure when I'm at my most creative.

Here I come to dampen your mood. Seriously Pony you are looking good in trousers with three holes.

That is often the case that taking a break results in a fresh start. Even this weekend when I was doing a jigsaw puzzle with my little granddaughter, it was a bigger puzzle than she usually did, and she got a little frustrated with it. I told her, let's take a break. When we came back, we could just see where the pieces fit.

Nice example. Our of curiosity, how many pieces were in the puzzle and how old is she?

I am my most creative when I am pressed for time and really should be doing something else . Is that you hiding your face from the camera?

Isn't there a saying that you learn to swim in the winter? It's like your brain has time to process what you've been trying to do and when you come back to it, somehow it all fits into place.

I take a break of going to the market to do things that I am supposed to do because I feel ill and dizzy so I stop doing that.

Why ill and dizzy? I don't like the sound of that!

I am not sure I ever unlearn bad habits. I tend to simply improve on them. My habits then become worse. Great to hear you had a good session.
