Back to Normal

What is normal? I think normal is whatever is typical for you. For me, it's getting up at 2:30 in the morning, getting my Bible Study done and getting some work done on the computer before I need to leave at 4:30 and head to the pool. I didn't message my friend to let her know I'm coming. I'm letting it be a nice surprise. I really hope the whirlpool/hot tub is working this morning. I really need it. I think the barometric pressure is up. My knees aren't happy, but they will be with a little time in the hot tub. It's time for me to get off the computer and get ready to leave. I will return. I need to message my son and find out what days he has off. I need to do laundry soon and hope it's today or tomorrow. I also need to work on my book. I'm going to try to remain calm today as I work on Thread of Evidence. I was extremely upset Saturday night. The editor has literally hacked half my manuscript. They're only suggestions, but she hacked the heart and soul out of the book. Now, I know some of the suggestions are good, but when you take the human factor out of the book there's nothing left. So, I will need to determine what is a good suggestion, and what I can do to salvage what she did to it. I have one month. I'm hoping we can come to a happy compromise. It almost makes me wish I had stuck with self-publishing. Such are the woes of an author. Time to leave. I hope you all have a good day. Any plans? Thanks for reading.

Good luck for your pool visit. I understand how you feel about your book. Suggestions are find, but completely changing the spirit of the book is wrong.

Spending time in the whirlpool sounds heavenly. Hope it helps Egads! Crazy that your publisher did such a hatchet job on your book

@just4him all the effort you have to put into your book makes me much more appreciative of any book I read. I hope you can reach a point where you're happy with the outcome of your book.

@Marilynda1225 Thank you. I will. It's coming along very well, and I'm learning a lot in the process.

It was heavenly. Thank you. Yes, I've had to reject a lot of huge slices to my book. Some I accepted as previous information, so it was easy to accept that. I need to put myself in the mind of the reader. What does he or she know already? Those are easy to accept, but slicing up the rest of it, not so much.

I am ticked with that editor. I usually go to bed between 8:30 and 9.

I had it when people make suggests and it takes out most of what you are wanting to say.

@just4him I would be upset too. That is horrible what your editor did to your book and you.

If some sugestions are good then you do the right thing taking note of it. Don't worry and be calm in one month you will have it ready.

I'm sorry the editor has felt it necessary to make such extensive changes. I hope you can find a compromise. Sometimes after a break you can see things more clearly in a fresh light and find a way forward. Hope the hot tub helps!

Oh, I'm sorry about your book. That could mean so much work. And I don't think getting up at 2.30am is very 'normal' for many of us.
