A surprise visitor and a good time!

As some of you know, a music friend of mine lost his house, and his Martin D-18 guitar, in the Paradise fire. A few weeks back, he spent a couple of days with me here in the Bay Area. We jammed the nights away and actually found him a new Martin D-28 guitar.
Yesterday, I got a call from him, saying he just had to get away from Paradise. As it happened, I was jamming with my friends from "Burl Jam" that afternoon. One of the members, also a guitarist and mandolin player, couldn't make it.
It was a perfect fit! We jammed the afternoon away, drank beer, ate chicken, and in general had a good time. He "crashed" on my couch last night and headed back to Pleasure--I mean Paradise---this morning. I think his spirit was rejeuvenated.

Sounds like a fantastic way to spend some time. Music really does have the power to soothe the soul!

@SophiaMorros My vocal range is nothing special. But I'm getting better on the instruments I play.

@TheHorse I feel that way about sewing but music has a special place as well. I don't currently play an instrument and my vocal range isn't what it once was (age seems to be catching up with me).

How are things going with the town? That’s a sad thing: after a couple of days the victims disappear from the front pages.
I’m glad your friend had a good time. Music is a phenomenal healer.

Sounds like a great jam session and mood lightening was had. Hopefully, he'll remember this a while.

It sounds like a fun visit, and a short one. Enough for a good visit and a good break. How is the progress going in Paradise? Does he have a habitable place back there? My former home in CA was only an hour and a half away from Paradise. I'm just curious how things are progressing.
