Movie review: The Mule

We've always liked Clint Eastwood. There are a lot of his movies we haven't seen, but who can forget The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly or Dirty Harry? So, when we saw his newest movie The Mule advertised, we rented it from Red Box. (We seldom go to a movie theater.) Eastwood directed, produced, and starred in the film. I can't tell you how disappointed we were. We kept watching and waiting...and waiting...for something to happen. It finally occurred to us that nothing was going to happen. It absolutely was not Clint Eastwood worthy. The language had some curse words as most movies do these days, but not as bad as some we've tried to watch and had to quit. He's 89 and I wonder if old age has affected his judgement. I'm sure there will be some who really liked this newest film of his, but I think it's time for Clint Eastwood to ride off into the sunset.

I always hate when I'm disappointed by a movie I expect to be good.

Yeah, I really like him, but this just didn't appeal to us. Boring.

@Marilynda1225 That's probably very true. He not only starred in this one, but also produced and directed it. Maybe it was the script writer!

@1creekgirl Sorry to hear that Clint didn't come through with a good movie. Maybe he's better behind the camera these days rather than in front of it?

I will not watch it then. I´m a huge fan of Clint Eastwood but I´ll stay with his latest great movies such as The million dollar baby or The great Torino.

@1creekgirl I first saw his westerns decades ago. But he made many good movies when he was older.

I never liked the Spaghetti Western, but I liked most of the movies he made both as actor and director. If this is deceiving I am not going to watch it.

I was going to rent The Mule but not sure I will after this review. Love many of his movies so this is very disappointing. Thanks for the heads up!

Neither my husband nor myself liked it, but sounds like some people did, so you never know.
