We’re on Our Own

We just returned from breakfast after driving our other sister-in-law to the airport this morning. She’s already in the air flying back to New York City.
That means we have no more family here, but it turns out we have enough friends to bide our time with for the next 2 months and 2 days. We also have a list of things to do and see.
Right now, hubby and I are heading to Palm Beach for a little shopping. My new friend, Beth, called to tell me it’s Friends and Family time. Who couldn’t use 15% off designer clothes and shoes and triple points?

Oh no, it's just you and your husband now. That means trouble! You two party animals are going to tear it up in Palm Beach. The poor island won't know what hit them after you get done!

A neighbor just dropped by to inform us that another neighbor succumbed to cancer yesterday. I feel horrible and very down.

@DianneN - Have a great time and enjoy shopping in Palm Beach. It is one of those dream shopping destinations, like Rodeo Drive in L.A.
Actually, did you know that Robertson Boulevard in L.A., on the edge of Beverly Hills, is the "real" celebrity shopping street? It is near Rodeo Drive and some of the shops on Robertson can be entered by appointment only. I have been shopping there, and it is actually much more exclusive and private than Rodeo Drive, where you see mobs of tourists, especially since the movie, "Pretty Woman." While the tourists are all watching for celebrities on Rodeo Drive, the actual celebrities are quietly slipping in and out of boutiques on Robertson. LOL

I always enjoy shopping on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. I’ve only shopped on Rodeo Drive the two times we were in Beverly Hills, but that was before Pretty Woman. Fifth Ave. and Madison Avenue in NYC and Newbury Street and Copley Square in Boston is where I do most of my heavy duty shopping. When I shop, I’m not interested in looking for celebrities.

@DianneN We saw our token celebrity when we were on Rodeo Drive (actually the parking lot on the street behind it). Ted Danson I told my husband I wasn't leaving until I saw someone I knew. Also, we were resting on a bench on RD and all these limos were driving by with tinted windows. I wanted to knock on the windows and say, "Who are you?!!!" lol

I only bought 3 dresses, a blouse, and a pair of sandals - all beautiful to me. LOL! They are being shipped to our younger son's house, and he will put them in our house. I really needed some new things for the summer when we return in June. But I will get another gift card to use again towards something else.
