This isn't the only credit card I use but it is the only card that charged me interest for the next billing cycle in May even though I paid my bill in full before the due date this month, April.
Does this happen to you too?
I made some stupid purchases last year which cost me a lot in interest but when mom's house finally sold and I received half the proceeds I used the money to get out of most of my debt. This is the only card that wants to continue charging me interest even after the balance was paid in full.
The bank that issued this card is the First National Bank of Omaha. I just wanted everyone to know so you won't try to get a credit card through them, I had no problems with any of the other cards I've used.
Do you happen to know where I could file a complaint about this? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.
Oh, the lesson I learned in 2018 was expensive but it taught me never to trust those who claim they can help me earn a living online.

I actually got an answer that made sense from another credit card company @CarolDM He told me that these credit card websites usually don't have up to date balances and that I should call for a payoff quote before making a payment. Now I understand, too bad the other guy was too busy being huffy to explain it properly.

When you have a balance that is more than charges from this current month, you will pay interest on it even if you pay off the full balance. The only way to avoid interest is to pay in full every month. I know this from my own experience, I dug my way out of debt too and now I never run a balance. I have the pay in full set on my account and it just pays it in full for me every month.

I used to pay in full every month before I fell for that 'you can earn a living with this website we'll build for you' scheme ..... turns out I don't know enough about websites to make a go of it but I won't make that mistake again. Next time it will be a different one but I'm not paying money to anyone anymore.

@rebelann We all make bad decisions and it usually costs us dearly I have made a fair share. But I guess that is how we learn.

The only reason I prefer using a card is that if anyone steals my purse they won't get anything because all I need to do is let them know my card was stolen. Before I fell for the scam last year I had always paid my cards in full every month. I'll soon be doing that again.

I actually got the explanation I should have gotten in the first place but from a different Credit Card company. Turns out that the websites do not show the most recent balances so I was told I should call them for a payoff quote before sending a payment in.

I hope you ended up canceling the card! I don't deal with credit cards, they love those interest rates and late charges and fees and poking and prodding all of your money out of you.

I found out that what actually happened is that I tried to pay the amount shown on the Website but I didn't know to call for a payoff quote. Alls good now because I don't plan to carry a balance on any of them anymore.

Customer Service is a good place to start and to file a complaint through the state, you will find info online for your state to do this correctly.
Hope they straighten it out for you so you don't have to go through all of that.

I just called another of my credit cards and spoke to a very nice young man who finally explained all this garbage in a way that I could understand. It looks like I do owe the interest, I used the balance that showed on their website but the young man I just spoke to told me that the information on these websites usually don't have an accurate sum of balances due. His suggestion was to call any company first to get a payoff quote. I wish that other guy had told me this, I might not have been so angry with him. Ok, I did not yell, I never yell at customer reps but I did get angry.

Thanks, I finally spoke to another credit card and got a guy who wasn't huffy to explain it to me, now I understand. Too bad that some supervisors with customer services are so darn huffy they end up making a person angry. I plan to report that fool.

You need to go on the attack with customer service.

That can be a good way to deal with everyday life but if someone were to steal money you probably will not get it back and with a credit card if someone steals it you can call them to say the card was stolen and if someone used it you will not have to pay for what they try to purchase.

Learning is always good I think.
I am not an expert about credit card interest. But the few times I had to pay interest for a month I noticed I still got charged interest the next month after I had paid in full the previous month.
I read the fine print then and it sort of made sense. So, after that when I had a month that I didn't pay in full, then the following month I would pay more than the billed amount so that I would pay past the date I was being charged interest for. I don't know how to explain this better. But when I did that, I didn't have that interest charge the next month.

First call the company and cancel the card, they cannot charge fees for a cancelled card if its paid off.
If you have a balance, cancel the card and ask for a "settlement" and paid that off.
If you are paid off cancel and never use this company again, after you call them and ask what the charges are for.
I have heard horror stories about credit cards. I have never owned one.

I might just do that. This card is the only one that's charged me interest after I'd paid off the full balance.
