Last month new owner’s bought our apartment complex and many others also. We were considering transferring to a bigger unit. But when I looked to see the prices of the new available apartments they $300 to $350 higher then the other company had them for! This complex has 57 buildings and six apartments per building. There is only one trash place here. We thought that was bad but the trash company came regularly (Saturday’s)and emptied the dumpsters so it was not so bad. About a week after they took over on a Sunday I was taking a walk and I glanced up up at the fenced off trash area and it was a mess. I walked closer to get a better view and all 3 dumpsters were totally full and most of the concrete area was full of not just furniture but trash bags as well . The office was already closed The next morning my daughter took so trash out and when she came back I asked her if it was still a mess. She said ,” Yes” and I called the office, the new assistant manager said, “ He was gonna’ go look at it now.” That afternoon it was all dumped and cleaned up The grassy area behind our apartment has not been mowed in awhile and I tried to push the stroller back there to the sidewalk and in some places ( mostly up by peoples patio’s) it is taller! Again I called the office and was told that strollers are hard to push on grass. I asked when they were coming to mow an was told it was up to the landscaper It has been over a week! I measured the tallest area of grass outside my patio and it’s over 2 feet tall!

Time to move? When your lease is up, will they raise your rent?

Our lease is up October 13th. In July they will let us know if they want us to resign the lease and if so our options for rent. And we have to let them know by August 12th, so if we are going to move we need to of found a place and paid the deposit by then so we know what to tell the landlord here.

If it's a new management you should wait a couple of weeks to see if things improve. If not it's time to find a new place.

I was thinking the same thing, but the property manager stayed here.

So many of my friends are having trouble with their landlords. I hope they get it straightened out.
