Am I Crazy, or is it a Crazy Thief?

Last year, we replaced the toilets in both bathrooms. I kept the tanks and lids to make large porcelain out door planters. In the green one (yes, green) I had lemon thyme and lemon verbena. The lemon thyme is winter hardy. I wanted to put verbena in again. I put the pot in a sheltered place. I thought I checked on the thyme a month ago and it was there. The green planter is missing. I have other, more valuable things all over the place. I just cannot figure this out. I have the lid from the tank, waiting to put a pot on. HEY! WAIT A MINUTE! I am the crazy one, there is no thief. Hubby was so sick when we were removing the toilets, etc. that he could not get the hardware and guts out of the green toilet. It went to the dump. I kept the lid as a water proof tray for plants and I put a plastic planter on it. It is all there!! I sure did not want to think someone went to the bother of stealing that one item from an enclosed area between my shed and my house. I am sure not one of you guys gets so crazy and forgetful like I do.

I often misplace things and wonder if they were stolen. During the move one box did disappear and I am still wondering why it was that particular box.

Was it with a commercial mover or in a vehicle you drove yourself. I still have missing things from our move but it is all my own doing.

@Morleyhunt I have heard stories. Mom had to have something removed and restored after a fire, and they "lost" lots of things.

@GardenGerty that box was moved by a commercial mover....I could write a book about that horrid experience.

How funny! At least it wasn't stolen. I've done things like that before especially if I am in a rush to get something done.

He was so sick for so long that I think it fried both of our brains.

@GardenGerty I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

My husband often searches for things we dumped or for stuff that we decided not to buy.

That is funny. I bought two jars of salsa, and lost them. I looked right at them on the shelf and thought they were something else.

@GardenGerty This is what happens to my husband all the time. He looks at things and says they do not see them.

I know it sounds odd, but all by itself it just looks like a nice ceramic planter, full of herbs.

We do stuff like this more and more. At the moment we're missing the charger for the mobile phone as we need to find that asap.

I have several that seem to be interchangeable.

@GardenGerty None of ours are interchangeable - another marketing ploy I guess.

Sometimes what thieves take is really odd. Yes, I am glad I remembered though.

I doubt a thief would want a green toilet tank. My uncle got upset a few weeks ago thinking someone had used his credit card. It ended up being him. He had ordered something he forgot he ordered.

I can see where the order issue could happen. A plant person would want the green ceramic planter aka toilet tank. I had a swim bag, suit, towel, deodorant and shampoo stolen from my car in the town where I work.

At this point..... with me.... Ah.... hmmm. I will send that junk to the dump! and not ask " you want this useless rotting junk." LOL, I am sorry but Tony likes to hoard and I don`t. I am dealing with a hoard now that for some reason I cannot think of, I asked " can I throw this away." and got a No!

I actually had a use for the tanks as good sized planters. The rest went to the dump asap. Keeping the tank was cheaper than $20 or more for a planter. Hubby and I both hang on to things, different things. I cannot get mine organized cause his is in the way.

Lol! Sometimes I am like that. Missed something and I thought it was stolen. Then I found the thing when I was not looking for it anymore.

Yes. I imagine things sometimes. Glad I solved it. I hope it is not old age.
