Yesterday in the late afternoon, our washer rebelled. I had put a load of towels in on a hot wash before making dinner. When I got ready to move it and put another load in, I found out it had filled, drained, but never washed or rinsed. I tried to rewash it, but no way. The single green cycle cyclops blinked and blinked at me with no response to my frantic button pushing. The evil red glaring lid lock would lock, then unlock, lock and unlock. My first instinct was that it was a computer error. Un-plug and replug, It did not help, so late last night I turned to search the internet. First advice was the unplug thing. Next it said to unfasten the hoses and clean the screens on the back of the washer. We did that. I found some little brown rocks on the hot water side. I cleaned both ends of the hoses and Bob got them hooked back up. Then I had to go to work. It worked. It worked. While I was at work Bob rewashed the towels and got them in the dryer and washed the next load as well. Back on track. Time to do laundry.

That's a relief that you guys got it to work again! Good thing we can sometimes search the internet for fixes!

Yes. Those machines can get fussy. I had to fix my mouse on my computer today. It was an easy fix as well.

That's wonderful. It's awful when the washing machine goes on the blink.

Yes, even though there are just two of us, it is important to have clean clothing.

@GardenGerty When you are used to a machine there is no way you'd want to go back to washing sheets and towels by hand.

What a simple solution! Glad it wasn't a computer error. That could have been expensive.

I think I would have just looked for a used one on Facebook, that did not have a computer.

Yes. Having laundry pile up, or wet soapy stuff is not fun.

I am glad it worked, I often ask YouTube to come to help to repair things. It usually works.

Yes, we did not need the inconvenience of trying to find a service person or buying a new one.

Glad your washing machine has been repaired without calling for a repairman, luckily not the damaged PCB.

@GardenGerty We had to buy a whole new washer after ours broke, and we had only had that one about 4 years.

Yeah. I learned early on that if the lock mechanism gets dirty, you cannot get the washer to run at all. Like dust or lint in it.

At last a working washer and dryer, whew. Mine wasn't so lucky when my washing machine acted up. It made such a ruckus so I had to stop it. I called Sears and made an appointment with a repair and it cost me $286 and some odd cents! Now it works fine. Something in the machine wore out so the basket while spinning made a loud noise!

@GardenGerty Machines do that, so I was glad Sears has their repairing for they come to your home and repair it. I hope they keep open forever too...just had another closing of a Sears store on Oahu.I plan to get a smaller washing machine too with a dryer if I can afford it.
