Love is a powerful force. Love has tremendous force. Love is the perfect bond of union. How can she show Godly love as we go about our day and as we deal with all kinds of people? It is not an easy thing to do as we are subject to weaknesses and negative moods, influences and pressures. What do you suggest we can do so that we can keep Godly love uppermost in our minds and in our lives as we go about our day? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Romans 8:38-39 (Amplified Bible) 38 For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We show godly love when we treat our neighbor as we treat ourselves.

@db20747 @1hopefulman I have a philosophy but don't expect everyone to share it. Yes, we can get burnt in relationships, in the world and in love. Stuff happen!. My philosophy is at the end of the day and at the end of our life, everyone will face the days end, nothing else really matters. It is a risky venture, ask God even God got screwed by satan. :(

Godly love can be simply being friends with people even though you disagree with their political or social views. It can be sitting together eating a meal without picking up electronic devices. It isn't always nice and easy though, it can also mean standing up to someone who is being hateful. However it sometimes means walking away from someone too.

From what I know of you, you were taught well and I would be happy to have your family as neighbours. I know you would not like our winters and I have no intention of torturing you with our winters but you know what I mean.

We can do our best to follow God’s word and as Jesus told that his Father can give us His spirit if we pray for it..

Show people that you really love them. If we have an enemy, pray for them. And need to show that we care.

If we stop clenching our fists too much in life we might be more open handed then too.
Love is always Godly, when it is real love. It can be no other way. The test is then, that if your love is not Godly towards others, and towards yourself, it is not Godly love at all, but perhaps just a poor substitute of what you think that Godly love is. Stop thinking about love, just love, from your heart, kept open to receive the entrance of God into it, via your faith, and trust that your love will then be a Godly love. That’s about all that we can do, as we are not God, nor is God us. @innertalks Right on! I was thinking of how can I increase the way I show love and wanted to see what others would suggest. A couple of thoughts that came to mind were: By being kinder to all people that I meet. By being more friendly. By helping where I can.

I used the expression Godly love to distinguish it from romantic love. I agree with all that you said.

@1hopefulman Yes, I was thinking that was why you said Godly love. Otherwise, people usually just equate love to human/romantic love, if we just use the term "love", by itself.

I guess there is a time show Godly love by doing something for a person and a time when it is showing Godly love by walking away. Even Jesus told the Devil who was talking nonsense to go away.

We find ourselves in the same boat. It should then be unity in diversity, agree to disagree when it comes to that. Help those in need and never rock the boat. Sadly war-mongers flex their muscles more than peacemakers. The roles are then cut out for those after godly love to show their mettle - siva

We can show Godly love to people by loving them unconditionally, ignoring their bads, weaknesses and accepting them for who they are. Also teaching them good things practically means by being ourselves good , we can teach them to be good too.

Tricky question. The key is loving oneself. Can't give what you don't have.

True! We may not have a lot of apples to share with people. But if someone gives us a seed and we plant it and care for it then one day we may have an orchard.

God is love as it says in the 1st book of John, chapter 4, verse 8. Therefore, the simplest way to show Godly love is to take care of our family, provide their needs especially their spiritual needs by bringing them to Church, by studying the scriptures, and by serving our fellow beings.

@Nakitakona Yes, love is such a beautiful thing. It comes from God. He shows it in so many ways. He also wants us to show it in our lives and in our surroundings and spread it far and wide. Have a lovely day!
