Third Honor.

Hello everyone. I just want to share my proud moments with you all. My daughter just graduated from grade 6 and she was awarded the third honors. It means she is the top 3 among their batch of 3 sections. She has always been an honor student so really nothing is new to me. But the difference now from the previous years, the school ranked the first five students of the batch. Usually they just named the first honor of the batch and the rest were identified by the category with honors, with high honors and with highest honors. Being the third honor also means that my daughter is the top 1 on their class because she is the only one included on the top five and the rest of the class received with honors award. She also received 2 academic awards. This school year, she has been more active in other activities than academics. One proud mom here.

@rakski forgive me, I don't know what the equivalent of grade 6 would be here. Your daughter looks older so I assumed she was at college.

Congratulations on that one. All parents will feel the same way as you do if they have a child like that of yours. Keep up the good work and next year will be a much more challenging years to come.

Congratulations to your daughter! Is it like mother, like daughter? I am not happy that the ranking of honors now isn't specific like 1st , second and third honor as before. Now, it's only with Honors. It isn't motivating enough for the children to be competitive.

That is true. And the school arranges it alphabetically so you will not know the ranking of the students. Except for the top 5 this year of the graduating class

@rakski I don't like their style of honoring the students who are on top of their classes. For me it is the best to have the first, second and third honor.
