Does your family have any traditional recipes?

Keeping in the habit of passing recipes from generation to generation (for example: using cooking books) is a very common decision in many families around the world (it's even a way of keeping some affective memories alive). Would your family be one of them?
Regardless of your answer... What do you think of this kind of habit?

@WiseGhots yes, it's really good, no need to ask other people about it, because you own it

I love family tradition dishes. Our daughter has made her sweet potato casserole every Christmas for many years. My chocolate mint squares are something I only make at Christmas and they've become a family favorite. I have a ton of recipes that I've collected over the years, some I've never ever tried, but a while back I pulled out and wrote down my favorite recipes and put them in a recipe book for my family, along with advice and helpful hints about a dish.

@WiseGhots Because women are prospective housewives and they must be able to cook.
Its only our tradition, nothing to do with men allowed or not!

When all three of my daughters got married they were given family recipes to carry on the tradition. So far my moms potato salad is the most popular.

Yes, there are at least a handful of recipes passed on from my grandma and great grandma.

In my family there are no recipies, that I am aware of. Regarding other families having their own recipies, I say it is cool cause if there is a recipe that comes from way years back, and one can make it at present, that would be incredible. Maybe some ingredients would change due to their availability or something.
