159,000 texts after 1 date

Just incase you were thinking on trying dating online - here's this article to discourage you very much so!
After having 1 date together from meeting on a dating site, accused stalker Jacqueline Ades sends her beloved 159,000 texts which included some very creative threats such as wishing to use her date's hand bones as chopsticks.
Eventually she broke into his home (thankfully he wasn't there, who knows what she would have done) and took a bath.
She told the police that she imagined she lived there and was just acting accordingly. She didn't understand why that might be wrong.
I've actually read a couple of articles about this case and in one of them she was quite certain that court would force the man to marry her. Wow. Delusional.
She's clearly not dealing with reality - and needs help. But if my experience with "the system" says anything - they will simply let her roam about until she actually does hurt the man.
While I'm against locking people away against their will, there are a really real subset of people that are not well enough to live in society. So what then is the harm in putting them in an institute where they can be helped, and the rest of society is safe? Sure they maybe won't be
happy there - but they probably aren't happy out in the world, either.

Hopefully the guy cancelled his subscription to that dating site
On a serious note, online sites are open to everyone who wants to join even sickos. It's a scary world out there in social media land

Lol! I hope so too. Sheesh. Interesting enough the site he was on (according to the article) was a dating site for rich/wealthy people. That seems like a bad idea all the way around. If you're hoping someone likes you based on the idea that you have money - relationships like that often don't work out. It would be better to act poor or at least middle class - and be sure the person likes you for you, before letting them know you have $.

I have heard similar stories, but this case is more extreme than the others. It sounds like this woman really needs professional help. I am married, but I dated a few men from the internet in the past. One of them was quite strange, but fortunately he didn't turn into a stalker.

@FayeHazel I am happy that I am married today
I don't miss online dating. Some of the men I met seemed okay online, but when we met in person they were very different.

@Porcospino Oh isn't that concerning? I often wondered if I seemed different in real life.

I'm happy that none of your dates got weird to this extreme. Yikes. Happy you found a "keeper" too ;-)

Oh wow! That's some craziness.
I do hope she gets help. And he moves far away and changes all his information. Even though he shouldnt have to.

Oh good point there too. Unfortunately yes - it would be safer for him to change all his info , though he shouldn't have to

yikes, that's a scary situation. what's even worse is that she doesn't seem to think she's done anything wrong. I hope she gets the help she needs.

So true. I really hope someone makes sure that she gets help, she wouldn't go willingly I'm sure - since she sees no wrong with her actions

It's a very sad case. I agree. She needs some help before she hurts someone or herself
