Let's continue our trivia series and explore some more terrific tunes with an exercise term in the title. As long as your movin' your groovin. And burning some calories in the process. And these unusual movements can be performed in dance, track, ballet, and in popular choreographed music videos. I'm sure Michael Jackson used a few of these moves in addition to his famous moonwalking. So here's a video from the Pointer Sisters which provides a clue to other ways besides walking to work up a sweat. That video sure did have some cool "jumping!" And now, let's start our trivia quiz... Whodunnit? Do you know these songs and artists: 1. This Philadelphia group had a big hit with this 1957 tune. The song title is a reference for high school dances during this time period. Sometimes school administrators would make the kids take off their shoes so they didn't scuff up the floor of the gymnasium, where the dance was usually held. This tune was used in the 1973 film American Graffiti, which is set in 1962 and features lots of music from the early days of Rock and Roll. This song helped keep Jerry Lee Lewis from ever having a # 1 hit U.S. hit, keeping "Great Balls of Fire" from the top spot. The original title of this tune was "Do The Bop" until American Bandstand's Dick Clark recommended they change the title name. 2. This song was a departure from the artist's previous pop/soft rock recordings. Unlike his Grammy winning song from the film "Midnight Cowboy," this tune was pure hard rock n' roll, and featured a drum solo by Derek and the Dominos' Jim Gordon. The song was one of three singles released from his 1971 LP, arguably the artists most productive and successful musical period. The lyrics are a lovers plea; as referenced in the repeated line "we can make each other happy." Another release from that album was a cover of Badfinger's "Without You" which became an international hit for the singer. In 1990, our mystery song was used by director Martin Scorsese as the soundtrack to a frenetic scene in his film Goodfellas, where the paranoid Ray Liotta character sees a hellicopter and believes the authoities are closing in on his cocaine operation. Bonus: Our video group The Pointer Sisters recorded a song written by Bruce Springsteen which became a hit for the girls reaching # 2 on the U.S. charts. Do you know the name of this Springsteen song? Ok, it's time to "fit" those clues together and come up with the answers...If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. You can "lean on me" if more clues are needed. As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!! Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- pinterest.com

Do you remember the artist who performed "Everybody's Talkin (at me)" for #2. His first name was Harry. Here is #1 - a song revived in the film "American Graffiti." Fire was the bonus written by the "Boss." Bruce also wrote the song "Blinded By The Light" recorded by Manfred Mann

1. If you remember, in last month’s obituary list the songwriter of that classic passed away. The next obit list will include the group’s lead singer, who also passed away. 2. Did you know that Harry did the theme song to the TV series The Courtship of Eddie’s Father? About that time he also appeared in an episode of the TV series The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Maybe he had sights set on acting as well! As for the song title, put the two Pointer Sisters songs together and you’ve got it. “Romeo and Juliet, Samson and Delilah....” Or Robin Williams’ Elmer Fudd version.....

Yes, I enjoy those orbits although I may only recognize a name or two. I do remember something about The Courtship of Eddie's Father and Harry. Did not know about the Ghost & Mrs. Muir a show I watched and liked. I bet old Harry would of been happy to have written a tune for Bill Bixby's other show The Incredible Hulk. But I don't think Lou Ferrigno would have stood for a heckle job on the set by Nilsson and good friend John Lennon. You might remember the famous heavy drinking incident where the two were ejected from the Troubadour nightclub in West Hollywood for heckling of the Smothers Brothers. Robin Williams is quite a trip! I would of liked to have seen what Robin's good comedic friend Jonathan Winters do a Fudd impression of that tune .

@dgobucks226 The title they choose in Italian surely attracted more curious people than "Midnight Cowboy" .

They called those old school dances where kids danced in socks...."Sock Hops." And I bet they were burning off some calories on the dance floor to "At The Hop." Nilsson the artist for answer #2 recorded a very popular version of "Everybody's Talkin" for Midnight Cowboy.
"Everybody's Talkin'" is a folk rock song originally written and released by Fred Neil in 1966. A version of the song performed by Harry Nilsson became a glo...
