How many of you grow your own veggies

I have always wanted to grow my own veggies but have space constraints. I sometimes think of starting a small garden in my window sill. Am looking for ideas of what I can start in my place that will survive the temperatures here. What about you? Do you grow something or know anyone who does and what exactly grows well in your place. I have a vegetable garden, but here the temperature is very different, I have no idea what it would survive in your area.

When we were younger and had a bigger house and land while the children were small we had amazing gardens. ( also when I was a kid my parents had a huge garden.) Now that the kids are on their own we don't need all the food we had when the children were home. We moved to a smaller house with too many trees around it so our garden is very small now. We grow our herbs and tomatoes and some times lettuce...

My parents too had a garden when I was a kid. I remember plucking fruits from the tree and eating them. Wish I had space now.

@mayka123 I'm afraid I don't know a thing about growing anything in the garden but it's something I wish I could do. I think it would be fun and amazing to watch things bloom and grow. I hope you get to do this one day.

I have a few pots in the house and some mud so have buried some lemon seeds in them. Lets see what happens to it in a few weeks.

I am not too fond of eating leafy vegetables so dont think I would want to start growing them either. Would love to see your garden.

I have a garden yes. I usually plant tomatoes, peppers, squash, eggplant and beans. One idea you might try which I have done is to just grow one tomato plant in a planter. They do very well just make sure it gets plenty of sun.

I have put some tomato seeds in a pot a few days ago and kept it on the window sill where it will get sunlight for a few hours every day. Lets see what happens in a few weeks. Wonder how much time I have to wait to see if the my experiment is a success.

Here only summers are too hot for a month or so which is not a good time for the plants that get direct sunlight but rest of the year is fine.

@LowRiderX I live in a small apartment where I only have a window sill to keep my plants. And it gets direct sunlight there the whole day so sometimes get worried if the plants will be safe there.

@mayka123 That's good, but you can always protect the plants, it should not be a problem

I like growing dwarf cherry tomato plants. They don't get too big so excellent in a box but it is still good to add a sturdy support to tie the plant as it grows.
