Booked Solid

Sorry I haven’t been here. I’ve been flat on my back icing and heating, and doing mild flexibility exercises since a visit with a chiropractor here in beautiful, sunny Florida. I’m booked solid with him every other day until we head north. Seeing him again this afternoon.
Apparently, I have a few pinched nerves in my lower back and something wrong with two vertebrae in my neck. My chiropractor blames that on myLotting! Really! And who knew?
I’ve had to cancel our Friday date night and Memorial Day festivities with friends, but have no choice. I need to get my spine straightened out and quickly. I will have fat Doodles to lift, carry around, and kiss in less than two weeks.
Have you ever hurt your back? Ouch!
~Photo is mine taken in Palm Beach~
P.S. Thanks to those who have asked how I’m doing.

It is thirteen years since my accident and yes it does have an effect on me even now.
Take care.

No no no - it cannot be myLotting . . . I say get a second opinion .
Oh gosh - how is it when you stand or walk? Are you having to lay down all the time now? I'm so sorry this is happening towards the end of your FL stay . . . I hope you will get better from this back pain quickly so you can get back to life. My back is ok for now - but my left neck/shoulder area is bothering me a bit - old whiplash thing - and I'm doing PT experiments on myself at the moment. Get better soon !

@DianneN It's so strange how one little movement can cause all this. I know with Hubby that happened to him just when he was trying to get into the shower once. I hope you are even better today. Now that you've all mentioned about the reading and computer thing, I'm trying to be very conscious about that - I guess it's about being in a particular position constantly. Please continue to take care!!

I just returned from the chiropractor and felt so good that I took a nice little walk. I haven’t been able to stand upright and have been walking bent over. It’s a constant fist in my lower back, but the ice, heat, and exercises seem to help. It feels better on my make. I have read a lot. I’m certain it’s reading book after book that is screwing up my neck, but I refuse to stop reading and myLotting, no matter what!
Be very careful doing your own PT on you neck and shoulder. You don’t want to harm yourself further.

Yes, I have a degenerative lumbar disc that kicks up a fuss once in a while. I suffered from sciatic pain for years until a chiropractor taught me some exercises that relieve the pressure. I feel your pain and I hope you are back up and your usually active self soon!! Get date night delivered in, its the company not the restaurant lol

Sorry to hear that, but thank goodness for chiropractors. I’m feeling a bit better after seeing the chiropractor today and was able to take a nice little walk. My husband has been a saint to me. He’s whipping up dinner right now and found a good movie for us to watch together. I can ice and heat on the couch now. lol

Yes I've had back issues and the only thing that helped was frequent visits to the chiropractor. I'm sure he'll be able to fix you up so that by the time you are ready to travel home you'll be in tip top shape.
I guess I can see spending so much time looking down that it would affect your vertebrae in your neck. Sorry you had to cancel all your weekend plans.

@DianneN Hmm, maybe you could lay your head on the back of the chair.

@DianneN I have arranged my computer so that I don't bend my neck too much. I hope I have no problem.
Can you place your books in a way that that does not cause too much strain?

@1hopefulman I’ve been holding my books up ever since I received the report. The only problem is that it’s a thick, heavy hardcover. Only paperbacks for me from now on.

I'm sorry for the pain you must be in! And for the cancelling of your plans.
When I gave birth to Julian it knocked something out of place (not sure what you call it, lol). The chiropractor did a thermal scan and my lower back is in the RED-not good! =( There's a lump that sticks out of my lower spine and it's painful, I just do the best I can with it and pray for healing when it becomes unbearable. =)

@DianneN It's not that bone but it's in that area, just above it a bit. It sounds like the same scan, sorry you have some in the red too! Yeah we are. Lol.

@DianneN Without the surgery I would soon have been unable to walk. If the surgeon had made a mistake, I would have been unable to walk, too. So I plunged into the unknown and decided to take the risk. The surgeon had hands like a vet who works with farm animals but he did a wonderful job and everything went well. It was an exciting time as you can imagine.

@LowRiderX You certainly have had a lot of rain. Is it your rainy season or just rotten weather?

Yikes--keep working on it--icing--and I use heat when I need it--and lots of yoga--that seems to help me more than anything else--although that being said, really the last time my back hurt other than hip operations was years ago--so do whatever you need to make yourself feel better before you leave--

I've been meaning to contact you but figured you were out of commission. You really did a number on your back. Sorry you had to cancel your plans. I can't believe that he wants to see you every other day! I have major spinal problems; so the answer to the question is definitely yes! Take care and I'm sending lots of hugs and healing power!
