Off to Iowa. / myLot

I'll be on a road trip to Iowa for a college reunion for the next nine days. During that time, I probably won't be MyLotting. Don't think I've turned into a pumpkin. I'll just be hanging out with old friends. I'm bringing my guitar and my bicycle. I look forward to some jamming and some cycling in the cornfields. The goodbyes were sweet--a BBQ with music friends yesterday, calming a crying, transitioning (from the toddler room to the big kid room) 2 3/4 -year-old today (she knows me well from the toddler room) and getting her to sleep with a smile on her face, and playing with Horse Jr. this afternoon. Tonight I stay in Reno. After that, I just wing it until I find myself in Central Iowa. Wish me good weather, smooth roads, and not too much "partying."

Have a wonderful time and be aware of the normal looking women, and men, they are the craziest. Like bates motel crazy, oh yeah, no off the side of the road motels, ya know what I just said, they check in and never check out.

I wish you good weather, smooth roads and just the right amount of partying.

I think I struck a good balance. Asking for a hit from a joint in Wyoming was my most aggressive move. They were two mega-tattooed Mexican dudes from Texas, but they were nice to me.

Being arrested in Nebraska was the low point. I befriended the security folks at the college, so they did not hassle me and my ex- for smoking and drinking on campus.

I did some major "partying" with old friends in Grinnell. I even befriended the "security folk" and they did not hassle us as we smoke and drank away on the (now smoke-free) campus.

@cintol It actually scared away a student I was talking to. The guys drove in to say goodbye to me and she fled like a bandit. Bad timing.

I had to stop early in Nebraska on the way home due to whiteout conditions (rain and hail) and 50 mph winds. But I didn't get swept away by a tornado.

After Iowa, I headed up to Grass Valley for music festival, and then had to rush home for the cancer awareness gig. I guess I like being busy, so long as I can relax at the end of the day.
