Trapdoors and handles

Our son joined us in West Cork, Ireland, for three nights and it was great to have him there. His room was reached through a trapdoor which had a counterweight attached to it. I thought this was a very clever idea. Once you pushed the door up a certain way, the weight prevented it from falling back on your head.
There was also a very kinky handle on the trapdoor. It was in the shape of a dog. Another door handle in the bathroom was a simple piece of wood but I thought it looked really nice. Some houses are really suited to quirky furnishings, aren’t they?

It sounds like an interesting place. I like places that are different.

Haha. The people who own the house are the kinky ones.

Now I want a room with a trapdoor. That sounds like fun.
