The moon is out and I have headlights on my riding mower but all I kept thinking was "That crazy man mowing grass and its dark" That lives by @GardenGerty Even though I was in the field at 8:30 pm, I could hear "crazy woman!" I needed an hour more of light to finish. Or maybe I shouldnt have picked blackberries or walked the dogs, I had to go get gas and Tony more boost so I cant say I shouldnt have did that to have more time. I should have got off my ass and got started earlier. So lady stopped mowing so no one can say "Crazy Lady Mowing Grass At Dark" I had a wonderful and restful day, how was yours?

If you can see to mow, that's all that should matter. Maybe today will start earlier for you. My day yesterday was very good. Reading, Writing, Laundry, and watching TV and a couple of house chores too.

I would like to mow at 8:30 pm during summer, it's cooler, but no noisy garden works are accepted after 7:30 pm. They judge that people have the right to have dinner in a silent and pleasant environment.

@andriaperry No matter where you live here it's the law, but if there is no one around who calls the police?

Your day sounds a little less hectic than usual, that's good. =) If mowing the grass makes you happy than no one should steal your joy, that doesn't make you crazy. My day was good-we went fishing again and to the park with the kids.

Mowing is on our agenda here for tomorrow. We will see it if gets done. Thunderstorms are in forecast so hopefully they will miss us enough to get the grass done. I got some laundry done today, kitchen restored to order and cooked dinner.

@andriaperry Hubby didn't feel like getting the mower out. LOL. Today we had a nice thunderstorm that lasted a few hours. So now I have to get back on the mission of picking up limbs over the 2 acres then need mowing.

No one would think you crazy for mowing the grass at 8.30 pm here, as it's as light as it is at 4 am. 'Cause it's summer! And people have enough light to mow the grass all day and night long! As long as you don't hurt yourself or anyone else, why don't just mow the grass in the dark? I also think picking blackberries and walking the dogs must be more important and interesting than mowing the grass. If I get a garden, I'll plant flowers and just let the whole thing grow.

@andriaperry I'll go for moss and flowers. Both grow quite well here, it's wet and cold so it's often easier to get moss than grass. And thistles have great flowers and grow taller than the grass. It would be a quite unusal garden I think

But grass smothers out the flowers and you still have to weed those out.

@andriaperry Over the 4th of July, our neighbor kids were shooting of fire works until 1:00 in the morning. Jay finally hollered out the window, 'Hey some of us are trying to sleep, cut the noise!' They did stop, but boy, was their mother ever upset with us

It couldn't be denied for a normal person doing crazy thing for a reason. For me, you're doing it right. Let them say anything they want for you have accomplished something than doing nothing at all when there's time.

Somebody hear was mowing after dark, but I am glad they did, because they cut all the grass in the fringe areas past the ditches before the road..it was a big help!

Andria, I was considering mowing my grass at about 3am! LOL, I have a hand mower that is virtually silent, but I'm still afraid that my neighbors will think I;m crazy if I go out there after dark to do it. There is probably enough light due to a few streetlights...I guess I could wear a head lamp too. What do all of you think? Should I just do it when I want? Do you think someone might call the police?
