Barnes and Noble fooled me

I ordered two books from Barnes and Noble. When I got the package, along with those two books was a Barnes and Noble gift card. I got all excited and wondered how much money they were giving me to spend. I quickly learned that the gift card was empty. They just sent it to me so I could put money on it, without having to go to the store to do it, and gift it for Fathers' Day. I was fooled.
And who said I wanted to gift my dad their gift card. He doesn't even read English books.

Boooooo. Well that's a new tactic . . . how sneaky of them to do that. They're planting the seed by sending you a blank gift card "in case" you want to fill it for that last minute gift. How thoughtful of them to think of your convenience

. Don't be surprised if you start seeing other stores do this before upcoming holidays

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if others start doing that as well.

I've ordered stuff from them before and this is the first time they ever sent an empty gift card so I can add money to it online and then use it.

lol That's a new one on me. Although I must say it's clever on their part because you can make an instant gift.
