Sticking on the theme , My Lot - I love a parade. Do you? Today marks the last day of the town I live in - local city celebration. To top it all off they have a huge parade which, I'm fortunate to say goes right in front of my apartment building. Parades feature businesses (like the giant size grocery cart float in this area), Marching bands, Clubs, Churches, Organizations and this parade also has a guy who dresses up like Elvis and sings his way through the parade. As a kid the candy was a draw for me. As an adult I don't care about that... I like the entertainment. I Love a Parade:

I do! Some of the best parades I have attended were the St. Patrick's Day ones.

@dgobucks226 True, sometimes those events are in weighing out will it be more fun to go to it, or will it not be worth the hassle of parking, driving, crowds, leaving, etc

@FayeHazel Yes they are fun. It's gotten so big and crowded now they close the roadways to incoming traffic so I don't go anymore. Too much of a hassle

@FayeHazel There are times I am in the mood to watch a parade and other times not.

@FayeHazel I like when we have small parades in my neighborhood and we can go on our porch and watch. It is fun.

True, sometimes sitting in a crowd doesn't seem appealing

I have never been fond of parades I am not sure why. Even at Disney when the parade starts I head to Space Mountain, I can get a couple of rides in while everyone is watching the parade. lol

Hm, nothing wrong with that either - sometimes they do kind of drag on and on.... smart thinking to go on rides while people are mostly watching the Disney parade

I don't mind going to parades. The bigger, the better.

I have never been much of a fan of parades personally, but apparently a lot of people do enjoy them since they seem to be quite popular. I think if I had one going past my house I would probably go insane. lol

Lol, well, to be honest I think it would be more annoying if this were my home instead of apartment building

Sounds like the one we have for the 4th of July. I always enjoyed the parade! Candy was always a fun part....here the adults seem more greedy with getting candy though than the kids!

Actually that must be a nation wide thing. I was sitting next to a grandma with a toddler at the parade. She would freak out every time the little boy missed picking up candy, directed him to go into other kid's areas... the little boy himself was actually quite well behaved and he didn't seem too troubled by it all, it was the grandma who was freaking out over it. Sheesh. Yknow you can buy fresh, clean candy that hasn't been on the street for cheap.....

@FayeHazel I didn't know if it was all over the place, or if the adults here were just the crazy/greedy ones! Wow, the toddler's grandma was the one acting that way? That is just crazy!! Yes, it's so easy to go buy your own candy lol! I guess they just like that it is free though!

Not usually. But I really enjoyed the Rose Bowl Parade this year. Everyone was in good spirits and I'd never gone before.
