A Walk in the Park

We had rain this morning and this afternoon but I got my walk in between showers. It was a little cooler after the rain. Didn't see many people at the park, a few children playing on the playground and a few adults walking their dogs. Some kids were in the creek.
It wasn't muddy as I thought it would be. I saw squirrels running over the ground and climbing trees. I saw two cardinals, one looked to be chasing the other. I thought it might be mating season. My better half had a good book to read while waiting for me.
Just before I got back to the car it began to sprinkle rain so I finished my walk in time to keep from getting soaking wet. Huge dark clouds were hovering overhead but the sun was out before we got home. How was your day?

sounds jest magical, ms. ruby. so glad ya got that walk'n whilst cooler 'n then didn't need hip waders 'fore ya finished. oh, to see the squirrels 'n cardinals 'long that beautiful creek. sigh. jest makes me homesick's can be.
'twas hot here, 97. skeeters out'n billions 'f tiny grasshoppers....i've been workin' to eradicate the latters nurseries (weeds...dang those weeds) 'n though i've been quick to doctor standin' waters 't seems the neighbors 're jest choosin' to 'gnore 'em.

@RubyHawk yes ma'am, e'en the horses water tanks 're targets. thankfully i've lil pellets to put'n such that does no harm to the horses/birds 'n other critters who partake'n such.
need some hoppers? i bet there's zillions 'f the lil beasts out there currently. i'm hopin' my supplier gets some nolo bait back'n soon. such's not harmful to other critters, jest hoppers. so 'tis safe e'en if'n the birds eat one.
add stagnate waters to the mini-herd 'f dairy cattle they've put'n 'p the road 'n such's likely to spell disaster.

@crazyhorseladycx I hope the cows aren't made sick from the bad water. I used to see grasshoppers but I haven't seen any in a long time, probably since we moved away from the country.

That is a lovely park. We had no rain today. I want to go out walking tomorrow so I hope the sun will be out again. I had a lot of work online today. Hope you have a good night.

For the first day in what seemed like the last two weeks, we had a day of sunshine and no rain! It was a welcome sight after all the storms we have been getting. They are forecasting that we are going to have a hot, muggy and dry weekend, which sucks for the high heat index, but good in the sense that we can start drying out a little. Everything is flooded around here!

@RubyHawk We've had that happen before too, where bad thunderstorms on the horizon wold be approaching us, signaling for an ominous day, and then turning and going around us, or splitting and going north or south of us, almost as if we had a giant force field around the city protecting us from harm!

@moffittjc That happened to us yesterday and today. A little thunder and that's it. Sounds kinda like Steven King's the Dome, doesn't it.

How gorgeous! I thought you might have a muddy creek, too, thanks to all the rain that we've all been, ahem, "enjoying" this spring.
I had a long night last night, then had to get up early for a doctor's appointment this morning. I'm ready to get my sleep/wake schedule back on track!
