Can't wear my wedding and engagement rings anymore

I am married yet I can't wear my wedding ring. Or my engagement ring. Or any ring for that matter. Why? Because they no longer fit on my finger.
That is crazy.
I remember when my engagement ring was big on me and I had to put a bridge thing on it (not sure what it's actually called) to keep it from falling off. And my wedding ring, along with other rings, easily slid on and off my fingers. Now I can't even get any of them on. I might if I force it but then I won't be able to take them off, so not gonna do it.
I don't know if my fingers swell up or if they just got fatter but this is crazy. I want to be able to wear all my rings, especially my wedding and engagement ones. I wonder if I can make them bigger. I remember I had asked my mom's jeweler if I can make one of the rings that no longer fits me (one of my favorites) bigger and he had told me it wasn't possible. Have a feeling the same will be true for my other rings.

You can take them into a bonded goldsmith and have them made bigger.
I did that, and also had him join my wedding and engagement and 5 year anniversary rings all as one because when they slid around on my finger, it wore the claws down and I actually lost my big diamond.

@lovebuglena Yes, they can replace the claws so that the stones stay nice and tight, diamonds are expensive to replace. I like that my 3 rings are all joined together with gold. I take my rings in every June to get the claws inspected and repaired if necessary.

@Juliaacv When I replaced the small diamond the first time they didn't charge me for it. I wonder how much replacing the diamond actually costs.

I didn't know that rings can be made into one. My engagement ring is actually missing a small diamond. One of the prongs broke off and the diamond fell out. We fixed the ring but then it happened again. Not sure if the same diamond or not but doesn't matter. It shouldn't be happening. I was always careful with the ring when I wore it.

Fingers and wrists get thicker with time. I had to give my most cherished wristband to my eldest daughter. I´m glad I gave it to her because 2 years ago my house was burglarized and the robbers took away all my jewelry.

I don't like the fact that my fingers got bigger. I can't wear any of my favorite rings or any rings I have for that matter.

@lovebuglena Only if you have stones all around you cannot enlarge it.

@LadyDuck The ring that he couldn't make bigger did have stones around it.

Apparently, not all rings because one ring I gave to the jeweler to enlarge (which my mom had originally bought from him) he said cannot be enlarged.

That's sad! I hope you can do something with the rings so you can enjoy them.

Yes, it is possible. Gold can be added. I used to wear a 5-1/4 slight. Now I wear a 7 which is a little big; but the arthritis in my knuckle keeps it from falling off. I wear Imperial Gold (from QVC). I bought 2 new rings eons ago; and they have movable links on the top which conform to your finger; so if your finger swells a little, it can accommodate it. My old ring is in the jewelry box, sadly. It's brushed gold; so getting it enlarged would ruin it. I could wear it around my neck (it's engraved, so it is special); but I'm quite happy with my new rings. OK shut up now. Bye!

@lovebuglena I think so. Or maybe try another jeweler.

I thought any ring can be enlarged no problem. Turns out not the case.
